I'm sure you've seen the ads on TV. $10 mp3 players! $99 computers! Half price this! Low price that! I was one of the first people there. I did not see ONE promoted item there. It was a sad, pathetic imitation of a flea market. At a regular flea market I can find a better variety of wares without having to pay an $8 cover charge. I could find better deals on eBay! Shame on the Fort Worth Convention Center for allowing this unscrupulous event to take place.

I went there last weekend in North Carolina. The $5 cover charge sucked, but at least it lasts 8 weeks as opposed to like 3 days and all like I've heard before. It's pretty much as others described. A glorified flee market with crappy overpriced used stuff. Only thing I bought was a set of sais for $30 which were awesome, and a Japanese dagger for my Mom for $15. Nothing there was what was advertised on TV, and if it was, it was no where near the price stated and it was crappy and used. Most likely won't go back.

Tulsa Oklahoma -$7 entry fee - not mentioned on TV ad or front doors - and only to find none of the "glorious" prices or even the items shown on commercials. The merchandise they had - particularly electronics - was old merchandise they acquired through distressed merchandise purchases and are trying to pass it off at prices higher than this old crap was worth - certainly not worth going to see or pay admission to. Waste of time and money.

I'm embarssed to say I paid the $7 to enter the one in Tulsa. I went for the cheap games the were advertising on the radio only to find they did not have any of them and the one they did have they wanted more than the other stores. This is diffently a joke of a store. Hope this just saves someone else from wasting thier money to enter

I try to attend as many events as I can, as I am a promoter and involved in some nice shows. It does amaze me that these respectable venues would allow and essentially condone these marketing scams. I was almost convinced not to go with all of the negative feedback, but instead I am head'n to Portland to confront this issue. It sounds like a nigerian scam to me. Oregon needs a break right now , not scammed.

We were heading out tonight to the Portland Expo, and decided to look it up online 1st. My Husband was REALLY excited at the idea he could get his Mom a new laptop for Xmas,(his Dad died just a few days b4 Thanksgiving) he really wants to try and make this a good holiday for her. I remembered my kids making me take them to one of these for shoes a few yrs back, so I looked it up and thanks to your posts we saved the 30 bucks it would have cost us to park and get in just so we could find out that we were just 30 more bucks in the hole! I am calling the local news to let the consumer scam team in on this and hopefully they will alert the public, in the meantime my Husband and I decided to make some signs and post them on the PUBLIC street going into the event center. Hope it works!

Oh wow, thank you for warning me. The tv ads were VERY attracting. But I know now that they are very misleading. I wanted to get a 19$ iPod and iPhone. I also wanted some nice Nike and Adidas shoes from there as I am really on the lookout for them.
But geez, when is something going to be done about this?? Have they been arrested or fined yet or something? Sad thing is, the entrance fee is what gives them the money. They only need people to attend to profit (because of the entrance fee), not necessarily buy anything.
I have not attended this convention, but I am very curious as to how it is in there, unfortunately if i checked out the event, that would be just giving into their stupid scam.
As many other people have said DO NOT go to this event, even if you are curious. That would just help their scam. They should be prosecuted for false advertising.
Again DO NOT ATTEND THIS TYPE OF CONVENTION

On Fox 12 they had the story about the Portland show. They were told by security to turn off the camera. The shoe people didn't make it it according to them due to weather (plausible). I'm too cheap to pay the money for an entrance anyway so I wouldn't be sucked in and I always park offsite from the Expo Center, I won't pay the $7 parking. However, they were still advertising the event on TV tonight and a local radio station is scheduled to be there as a promotional thing, but you have to wonder with the negative promotion, if they will show or not, The weather may affect it as well.
The TV piece mentioned tonight so many complaints that a seperate line had to be made to accomodate them all.
