Should taxpayer-funded health insurance pay for city employees' sex-change operations? The proposal was one of 20 recommendations presented by a city-sponsored diversity task force formed more than three months ago after local and state police improperly raided a downtown gay bar.

People are being laid off and they are trying to get insurance coverage for a sex change covered as a "disability"?

Those procedures are long term and cost a fortune!

Pick up a paper... the country is in economic ruin!

Totally agree.

It appears the "gay community" lives in a nation that is not bankrupt. We can enact all their proposals so long as they pony up the money to pay for it.

Which isn't going to happen.
