Nice try, Ms. Parker. You chose to viciously attack Sarah Palin. This was your "spin." You do not have a monopoly on the truth - you are not the "light" or the "messenger." You are someone with opinions. Other opinions for the lackluster performance of McCain Palin could have included, oh, say, the horrendous economy, a hugely unpopoular Republican President, or a media in love with the Democratic candidate. Nope, those aren't the reasaons for the result, according to the one true messenger Kathleen Parker. It's the Governor of Alaska, whom Ms. Parker detests with all of her being. Your self-serving article today only digs your hole even deeper. I'm a Democrat, and I join Republicans in my loathing of you. You're not welcome in my party either, Parker.

Kathleen, if it'll make you feel any better, the same sentiments were expressed by those whose feelings were hurt when the Democratic Party took Obama over Hillary, and they came back when the wolf was at the door and it was either 4-8 more years of Repugnicant leadership or vote for Barack. They'll be back listening to you when the alternative is too fruitless.

As a liberal, I hope these blind compatriots of Sarah Palin ignore your warning and run Sister Sarah again. She's as daft as a kitchen whose outside tree just fell on it -- She was even blaming bloggers in the Fox News interview last night. What a thin skin! or could it be that "mirror, mirror on the wall" didn't give her the answer that she's the "fairest of them all," so she wants to break it. Ouch! The GOP doesn't need 13 years bad luck. But it lends credibility to the MSM claims that each morning the GOP VP nominee would look into the media and throw a tantrum when what it had to say about her wasn't complimentary. Good luck staring down Putin with that thin a skin.

Republicans have had a tendency to brand anyone who disagrees with them as a "liberal". Can you really be surprised when their vitriol is aimed at you when you criticize Sarah Palin? The problem with people in general is that they are not willing to even be exposed to an opposing point of view, which explains the popularity of Fox News, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, et al. McCain/Palin lost for a variety of reasons. Sarah Palin's obvious unsuitability was only one. Thank you for have the guts to say what you really thought and not just the party line.

Kathleen Parker is shocked, shocked she says, to discover that repiglicons and neocons are exactly what us proud Liberals have been saying for years. The party of hate, intolerance, and lockstep mindlessness. True to form, unless one reinforces their opinions, one is attacked, demeaned, smeared and "destroyed" (at least they attempt the destruction).
Talk about politicl correctness. The treatment of a thoughtful and decent person like Ms. Parer just shows where the demand for being politically correct is the strongest - in the party of intolerance, the repiglicons. Well, Ms. Parker, I am sure that once common decency and compassion finally takes the GOP back from the foamers, you will go back to their side and be the loyal opposition for us. Until then, regardless of what some others are saying, welcome to our even bigger tent. There is always room for another person that likes to think here. |

Sarah Palin represented the contempt the republicn party has for voters. When it spouted that she had international experience because she could see Russia from her window and that she had a lay-over in Ireland is when they lost voters who had any sort of thought process going on in their brain.

Together we stand - divided we fall!! As a nation we are divided as we have never been before.
ALL political parties want is POWER and nothing more. They will say and do anything to be elected to office. None are serving the people, they are self serving. In today's world the one with the most money and influence will be the one elected...and we the people will get what we deserve. The fall of Rome was from within, power hungry madmen..... The fall of the USSR was also from within.... looks like we just elected Nero and he is tuning up his fiddle as we speak. |

You must mean we elected Nero 4 years ago? Because we are burning now baby. |

Kathleen, I am shocked to see the mean-spirited comments to you. How immature, close-minded can people be. I guess when one does not want to see the truth or cannot admit it--they must strike out at someone and you were the one. As a women and a mother, I admit I was at first happy to hear about Palin selection, but on her introduction at the RNC and the scripted speech where she, without blinking an eye, denigrated, insulted, mocked and lied about a man she never even met, I knew she was not the one. On the following weeks exposure and revelation I was even angry at McCain for selecting her. It was an insult to women. You are right, she is not a qualified or competent candidate, nor will she ever be. The Republican Party showed an utter disrespect for all voters and they paid for it. He may have received 57M votes but almost 70M disagreed and voted for Obama. I'm sorry people cannot respectfully comment on a subject, they owed you respect since we all have the right to our own opinions. Don't feel bad I was also insulted because I dared to disagree and state my opinion on why. Hopefull, someday these same people will grow up and learn how to maintain a respectful discussion.
Have a great day. |

Kathleen,
A look at the numbers reveals that 55% of white voters voted for McKain, it was a black (racist?) victory (96%). The 45% of whites voted for a charismatic person, and against the current economic climate. Racism is no longer an issue with whites. That is heartening to see. |

My son Makiah was born at home, first thing in the morning June 22, 1999. We just didn't have time to make it to a hospital. The ambulance was Makiah's first car ride, and when we arrived at the hospital, Doctors determined that he needed another ambulance to take him to another hospital for special care, his heart was malfunctioning. He had heart surgery the next day. He is mentally retarded because of lack of oxygen during the surgery. I know him as my genius son, with a beautiful pure perfect heart.
We were in Chicago this past weekend, Makiah (.com) was hoping to shoot some hoops with Barack. We were distracted by the homeless people attempting to survive on the cold windy Chicago streets. Makiah had never seen a homeless person. And I had never felt so ashamed at myself for passing by a crying desperate individual 'child' huddled up in a small ball attempting to keep the warmth within. W'E couldn't sleep that night. How can we sleep in a warm comfortable bed, when a 'child' is homeless, hungry, cold and desperate on the cold, hard sidewalks of Chicago. Makiah is my inspiration. My guru. My mentor. My teacher. When I listen to Makiah, the heart of reality speaks loud and clear. His wish is to give every child a home, every child food, every child clothes, every child a mentor to listen to their own individual unique miraculous artistic genius. Makiah's Wish is to Owaken every child to know the truth of their own genius, to Ompower every child to own and share the genius of their truth. To transform and change all aspects of poverty into wealth. Makiah's loves basketball. Loves being on the Dream Team with Barack as a team player. Barack has taught Makiah to "DREAM BIG DREAMS" and his dream is to have every child on his dream team. Every child with a warm home, a warm meal, and a loverist mentor who listens to the genius within. Makiah believes it's time the real game, the ultimate game begins. The truth of the game begins at the pando roots level...growing into the grassroots level of play....time to set the TOP PRIORITY of our nation's play...every child matters. Listen to Makiah's Wish....as it shall surely unfold from the heart of reality to the heart of Chicago. Let the game begin. Hopefully, our next trip to Chicago will take us closer to the 55th street exit on the RED LINE, and the short walk over to Barack's House to play some hoops. Hopefully, our next next trip to Chicago WE will see that every 'child' has a warm home, a warm meal, a hot cup of green tea, a mentor who can listen to the magic of a child's heart. And an amazing community center...Michelle's Tea House, to call MY PLACE, where every child's DREAM becomes a shared reality. Blessings to the Dream Team, playing the game with ALL HEART. http://www.candidatephotos.com/preview.php... |

Kathleen;
As a person on the "left" I would say this behavior is typical of both sides. It is embarrassing to any thinking person, which you obviously all. I, for one, believe in honest, pragmatic discourse and really do hope the conservatives pull their head out and come with some attractive opposition in 2012. That takes honest introspection, which a few of them don't seem to be ready for at this point in time. |

Regardless of the opinion, "turning on the kitchen light causes a roach problem" is a great line. Thanks. I hope to use that someday.

You must have misunderstood me, I am no fan of today's political parties (either side) because it has become all about power, and power corrupts. McCain, Palin, Obama, Biden, Congress, and the Senate are all about being in control and could care less about you or me for anything other than a vote and our ability to pay for what they dream up as relevant. So, pointing out just one corrupted political moron is a waste of time and effort because they are ALL on the same kiddie ride. Bush made wrong choices, Obama will too, as will all the ones that follow. It is not about the power of love for their fellow Americans, it IS all about the love of power! This is why I think our country is on the downhill slide of history. |
