Lap band gastric bypass surgery improves insulin resistance

I am from Puerto Rico and I am searching for a Lap Band Surgery Doctor. I have earhed everywhere and I don't think nobody does it overhere including Dra. Ana Santos from Cayey only does the Gastric ByPass surgery.

Anybody knows about a lap band surgery doctor in PR?

Hi...There is a surgeon in PR: Dr. Rafael A. Iglesias in Guaynabo, PR. You can do a search in the American Society for Bariatric Surgery: www.asbs.org and you will find 3 surgeon in PR but only Dr. Iglesias does Lap Band. I'm considering doing my Lap Band in Mexico because my insurance won't cover it but Dr. Iglesias doesn't work with outside patients...Don't know what to do...In Mexico is less expensive there is also a Dr. in Dominican Republic. thanks for the info...i went to see Dr. Rafael Iglesias but was dissapointed cuz he said that i will lose 70 to 100 pounds BUT in 3 to 4 yrs.Lap Banding u will see results very SLOW. Gastric Bypass is much faster but i am afraid. I started to do the atkins diet again and lost 11lbs. in 2 weeks.Wish me luck.....

Oh, by the way Dr. Rafael Iglesias is in San Juan u can find him at Ashford Medical Center 5th floor, he performs all kinds of surgery including gsatric bypass, lap banding, etc. Look alo in certified lap band surgeons

Yo soy bien miedosa en cuanto a eso, y hacerme esa operación tan peligrosa en un pais que uno no conoce... no se a mi me da un poco de temor....

Hay una Dra. Santos en Cayey que creo que es muy buena...

Lo que sucede es que el seguro no me cubre,
pero cuando si tenia me iba hacer RNY last year with Dr Suarez in San Juan but I didn't receive the help I expected from an internista in UPR Hospital, so I couldn't do the surgery, and without insurace it costs aprox $23,000. In Cayey it costs aprox $16,000 w/o pre-op exams, etc. tengo entendido q en cayey no hacen laparoscopia con RNY. tenia en consideracion de hacerlo en Mexico pero me intereso mas el paquete de Colombia por aprox $11,000 que incluye hotel, enfermera las 24hrs y entre otras cosas, se oye bastante bien y he recibido referencias pero me gustaria conocer un poco mas.

WOW...la verdad que la diferencia es mucho dinero...
Siguiendo tu referencia entré en la página que dijiste de Colombia y se ven bastante profesionales.... Espero que todo salga bien...

After looking for many months for a Doc. that does the Lap band surgery in PR I ended up having my surgery done in Tijuana,here's their website
