I've had enough of poor service at locally owned restaurants.
If someone walks into your place, how hard is it to seat, hand out menus and take drink orders? It's not rocket science! On 3 separate occasions recently my companions and I have waited 10 min just to get drinks and menus. This happened at place in Bellevue recently. I think the guy that owns this place is in it as a hobby and has more money than sense. I think I'm gonna start reviewing local restaurants on here. I'm gonna rate them with 1 to 5 stars and they will be judged on service, food quality, price, cleanliness and atmosphere. I don't want to hear any crap from owners about how it's hard to find good help either! Train people right or get the he** out of the business!

I may just take you up on that subway girl. In the meantime, here's a great example of what I'm talking about. We went to Skinny Legs in Bellevue recently. First, we had to seat ourselves, not a big deal other than we waited between 5 and 10 minutes for a server to come over with menus. We ordered drinks and 10 minutes later we were still waiting for our drinks and our order to be taken. I watched the two girls working there and saw no sense of urgency in anything they did. They were more interested in looking pretty and socializing with the patrons who sat at the bar. I realize the place is a "bar and grill", however, the grill part is more an afterthought. I believe there was a gentleman there who appeared to be an owner of some sort, however, he was more interested in socializing too. We ended up walking out of the place. I think it's all about the alcohol sales with the attitude that they serve food if you're hungry but it's not their top priority. I think the bar and grill concept is becoming a tired and worn out concept around here. Someone needs to just come up with a nice clean family restaurant. I think they would do very well. Both the Frisch's in Bellevue and in Ft Thomas are a filthy mess, Newport Bob Evans has gone down hill. Mocha serves weird food instead of normal breakfast. The rest of the places along Monmouth are filthy dirty. Bellevue Bistro, you can't get a full breakfast or dinner. There is just no decent place to go thats nearby that is clean, serves normal food at a reasonable price and is kid friendly.

fortguy - you are looking in the wrong end of campbell county. You need to go south where the places are cleaner and more kid friendly.

I'm not sure who on the southside has a kid friendly, good food and service. My family ordered from Fort Thomas Pizza last night about 8:30 and it was terrible. One of the calzones looked like the cook wrestled with it, I ordered a large and it looked like the small and, like always, I had to ask for my extra pizza sauce I ordered. There wasn't any sauce to begin with. The hoagie we ordered was burnt and lacked any of the toppings that were included.

This has happened before and I hate that! I used to love Ft. Thomas pizza and it seems it has gone down hill too.

I will probably give it one more try and if it sucks again I won't order from there again.

I agree NKY1993, something is not good with Fort Thomas Pizza. One time I saw the inside of their kitchen and never went again.
I'd say drive a bit and go to Pasquales in Bellevue. Much, much better. Don't know if they make calzones, but their hoagies are much better.

I used to eat at Ft. Thomas Pizza about 2-3 times a month too, but lately it's just not up to par to me. Glad to hear someone else say it's still good, maybe I got them on bad days.

My family and I went to Frisch's in Fort Thomas and I wasn't that suprised, but it wasn't good. The food was ok, but the service was a 2 out of 5. 5 being the best. We sat down and waited about 10 mins before anyone took our drink order. Oh and it wasn't busy. It was 3:00 on Saturday. Then we waited about another 10 mins before we got them. Good thing we ordered when we asked for our drinks. Then all the sudden she is bringing our salads and cole slaw and then a girl follows her with our food. I hate that....please give me time to eat my salad before bringing my entree. The food wasn't too bad, but we even had to wait to pay. There was not much customer service going on.

Just a pat on our own backs but we just got inspected by the health deptartment and although the last inspection was only a 98, this one was a 100 percent perfect, it is posted on the wall, framed. We work hard so the customers we depend upon can depend on us.

Try the new Beef O' Bradys in the Newport Shopping Center. GREAT food at good prices. The server I had there was excellent! Non-smoking family bar and grill!

I have heard that Beef O' Brady's is good. The football team from Highlands went there for their luncheon and everyone said it was good. I plan on taking my family there this week because of all the great things I have heard about it. Thanks!

I came to Ky about a month ago and went to Frisch's in Bellevue. We ate and when we got ready to go I forgot my purse, I turned around and went right back in and it was gone. A waitress, Robin Dean took it to the office, but on her way there she stole the money out of it. How sad is that??

That is very sad. I hate to hear you had moved here and right away had a bad experience. Well we all aren't crooks, so I hope you still like Northern KY!

We went to Beef O'Brady's for dinner. It was great. They sat us at a booth right away. The booth seats and table were both clean as was the rest of the place. The server took our drink orders immediately and was back within 2 to 3 minutes. I ordered The Dubliner, similar to a Bob Evan's knife and fork dinner, it was thinly sliced roast beef with mashed potatoes, mushrooms and guinness gravy on a thick toast. The menu featured several other choices similar to this. It arrived hot and was really good. We received our meals in a timely manner. The server continued to check back at just the right times for re fills etc. The atmosphere was loud and lively much like a Bw3 on a Friday night. There were plenty of tv's showing the Phillies vs Dodgers game. Four of us ate for 33.00 plus tip. Over all, I was impressed. I rate this place 5 stars*****.
