I love to see the kids out trick or treating in our neighborhood, but I do have a gripe. First off let me start by saying that I do have children that trick or treat and again I love Halloween! My children were finished early and heading back to our house where my husband was giving out candy, one of our neighbors left out a bucket of candy for the little tricksters. I see a MAN approach the bucket...not in costume and again...he was at least a 40 year old man with a pillow case 1/2 full of candy. I saw him grab 4 large handfuls of candy and put them in his bag then his kids came up and got their candy and then the MOM came up and grabbed more candy. I got to our house to let my hubby know what was up. He had seen what was going on. We gave the man 3 pieces of candy (large bars of chocolate)for his children. He then placed those in his pillowcase and allowed his children to come up for their candy. Then the kids asked for more because they have people at home that didn't get to come out. Ok, I can get past that part...maybe the other kids were sick or something. Then the MOM came up and said, "Trick or Treat...ha ha ha the Mom is doing it too this year!" My husband then made the comment "ha ha you are a little old to be Trick or treating." We made sure the kids had candy, but didn't give the Mom any.(her hubby had enough for all of them) I am so upset that there are those that take advantage. I am all for the kids enjoying and getting candy but to see and adult teaching their kids to take advantage of others kindness. Well...I just needed to vent and see what others take is on this. I maybe over reacting, but I still couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him take 1/2 of the bowl. I can believe a kid doing that because they weren't being supervised, but to see and adult act like a selfish child was upsetting.

40? wow that's strange.

I like to see teens trick or treating (as long as they are in costume) because it's a good fun thing to do with their friends. My kids were always worried that people thought they were too old to go. I said.. You could never be too old... I WAS WRONG!! 40?!? wow.

I always get a kick of of parents who have children barely a few months old in a stoller who then walk up to your house for candy for them on Halloween. Um, yea, like a 3 month old is going to break out a snickers bar? A child who is a a few weeks old needs a lollipop? Like they even know what is going on?
Not really a gripe, just amusing.
I guess its better to give candy to an infant in a stroller than a greedy 40 year parent.

Yes, I promise 40! I see nothing wrong with teens in costume either going out for Halloween! It's fun for them to dress up and many dress up as a group! I love to see the groups and what they come up with or recreate.

I have to agree too about the babies. I dressed up my children when they were little, but that was to show my neighbors, friends and family. Yeah, I would rather give candy to a baby than a 40 year old parent.

Your never too old to dress up. I have dressed up and given out candy, gone to parties, and dressed up to help out a kids party. But...you do get too old to go trick or treating. This guy was not even in a costume to try to hide the fact that he was a 40 year old man.(unless that was his costume...just kidding..it wasn't) and then to have the Mom tell us she was trick or treating too.....I was just dumbfounded.
