BCR seems to be gaining steam and the City of Fort Scott may have to re-vote on who needs to be the Offical Newspaper of the City of Fort Scott. I hear each day someone switching to the BCR, subcription and ads.

Just as long as Mr P and Ms Editor dont get hired by BCR, I would be fine by that. I was told not to be mean and this is the 5th time Ive typed this. I dont think Im being rude. The Tribune once was a ok at best newspaper.

5 for 25 meat sale Fort Scott, KS	Reply » \| Report Abuse \| Judge it! \| #9 Jun 30, 2012 Anyway, I hope FS Tribune Fails its obvious BCR is a better well more put together paper, FS Tribune is Cheap, Generic and Sloppily put together, hence the black and white paper, no color, always seems to be more Nevada News then FS. (go figure)

Unfortunately, after the Nevada office had to step in (for financial reasons?), more news has been devoted to Nevada residents and less news has been devoted to Fort Scott and Bourbon county residents. The non-compete requirement for Tribune employees is SO unreasonable and shows a refusal to deal with the real issue of lower readership in the face of competition.

It sounds like the sale to the Nevada paper was not in the best interest for our local paper. I've noticed we also seem to have more & more Pittsburg news. The daily Nevada paper does a better job covering their local news through the week. It's good that we have a new paper for Bourbon County. If things continue, we may be down to one again shortly.
Slim Shady Wichita, KS	Reply » \| Report Abuse \| Judge it! \| #14 Jul 1, 2012 They quit reporting on things going on in Bourbon County, they are VERY selective on reporting crimes( report on certain people and not their own kids who got into trouble ), over all not very good reporters or editor just relying on AP wire. I do hope Scott(sport reporter) lands on his feet, good dude, works hard.
