If you rape a woman who isn't betrothed, don't worry. You can buy her for 50 silver. Could I be giving too much weight to the fact that God burned Sodom and Gamorah and surrounding towns because of these deplorable sins yet he has not been so angered about other sins? you may argue what sins were committed in those towns but if you have the Bible entirely you will find several references as to what took place there. It is not an old argument, God is the same always forever unchanging in His judgments and how he disciplines or in some cases punishes for each one. He set covenants, like it or not and they will not change because Christ said it is finished. See ya at the voting poles!:-)

The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was not destroyed because of homosexuality. It was destroyed because they were sinful towns who have fallen into greed and shamelessness. The verse in Genesis 19 is the only verse that connects homosexuality and the destruction of the towns. They are referred to 20 times in the books. None of those times does it mention homosexuality. Ezekiel 16:49 for instance, "Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom, She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned. They did not help the needy or the poor." Kind of sounds like this country. And if God is indeed unchanging in his punishments and his judgments, then why aren't we following the laws of the old testament? And since all the laws of the old testament are irrelevant, why is it okay to keep quoting Leviticus 18:22? That law has become irrelevant like the others around it. But did you also know that, according to the times the bible was written, that verse didn't actually mean sex. But that you shall not make another man unequal to you like a woman. You see, back then, women were property and you consummated the marriage to "seal the bond" that she was your property and that you had bought her from her father. She now belonged to you. And even in the New Testament it states that a woman belongs to man and shall have no authority over man. So we should get rid of women's rights according to the bible. 1 Timothy 2:11-14. Like I said before. If you are going to make a law based on the bible, then you need to do the whole thing, or shut up about it.

That is why the woman's body sees sperm as something that shouldn't be in the body and tries to kill it immediately. That also explains why the male "g-spot" is in the anus. And I believe in God. So just because you believe in the bible and go to church, doesn't mean you are a better person than I am. Do you think God judge me more because I fell in love with somebody of the same sex and treat people like they should be treated, or will he judge you more because you hate and judge people you have never met? As Matthew 7:1-2 says, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

I am a born-again Christian and a heterosexual feamle who has read the Bible over many times. Still, I do not believe gay people are gay because they choose to be. That's absolutely preposterous! Sure, there are people who "experiment" or are confused or whatever, but truly gay people were born that way. All of us have gays in our families and all of us know gays. How hypocritical can you be? It is not my place to judge a gay person or anyone else for that matter. I am not God. And Haha is right about one thing. The original Bible was not the King James version we all grew up with. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek. The translation back then would have changed by the time of King James and definitey by our time. Think about all the traditions we have today that are not based on Biblical principles. We do things because we were conditioned to do them. It's because I am not God and do not have His knowledge that I will not condemn anyone to hell (by the way, which meant grave back then, and no, I am not affiliated with the Witnesses). All I know is it's all I can do to run my own life so I'm not wasting time judging anyone else. Gays are treated now the way Blacks were treated when I was a kid. I say when in doubt, don't hate. As for Chick Fil A, I've eaten there before and it was OK, but not great. I don't hold any grudges against the poor dead chicken, though.

You don't have to agree with someone's opinion. Eat there, don't eat there, whatever! I don't happen to agree with the opinions of the US government, but I'm not going to move to a different country. I don't agree with the opinions of my own family part of the time, but I don't disown them.
Everyone is entitled, that's right-ENTITLED, to free speech. I would be willing to wager that if each of you went through your own cupboards at home and actually researched the companies behind each product and who they actually support, you would be surprised.

Shmily is right. I don't understand why Chick-Fil-A is getting all this attention. When Oreo and Doritos came out with their rainbow colored snacks, Christians boycotted them. When JCPenny's announced Ellen DeGeneres would be their spokesperson, Christians boycotted them. But when non-Christians and even some Christians boycott them, people go insane and say we are infringing on their freedom of speech. What about our freedom of speech? Or does that just apply when you want it to? But I'm not mad about it. When all these people went to Chick-Fil-A, they actually supported more pro-gay companies than anti-gay companies. For instance; Apple, Google, Ford, Chrysler, Chevy, AT&T, Verizon, Facebook, Twitter, and many more. So I thank you for that.

As we all know, members of the LGBT community were considered to have a mental health problem. This was not simply because of choosing the same sex as their sexual partners but because of the other mental health issues like depression, etc. that prevail. As everyone knows the physical and mental health problems associated with the LGBT community are very devastating. Also, suicide is much higher among members of that community even in countries where that choice of behavior is considered acceptable/normal. Buzz words like "hate" are used to try to get sympathy for the "cause". Comparing members of the LGBT community to blacks is unspeakable in every way possible. Race is not a behavior. You choose the behavior, you choose the consequences whether it be those promised by the Bible or the mental and physical ills associated with the lifestyle. Trying to take away freedom of speech in order to promote the "cause" is getting old, very old thus the hostility that a group would try to suppress the freedoms of others in trying to get their behaviors stamped as "normal" which they will never be. You choose whether or not to commit sodomy. I believe when it was considered a mental health issue that you probably had less suicide because the individuals could seek therapy. Allowing a union between members of the LGBT community would be suitable but it will never be a marriage. They would like it termed "marriage" because they believe that makes it proper in the eyes of God. Good luck with that. Again, you choose the behavior, you choose the consequences. I believe the hate that members of the LGBT community feel comes from the self-loathing they feel for themselves since most were taught that this was not an acceptable lifestyle. It is not about discrimination. Most people are not obsessed about their sexuality always feeling that everyone around them is thinking about what they do behind closed doors (hopefully). Perhaps, it is the vibs of paranoia that cause more problems than anything else?

In verse four, we find that “all the men from every part of Sodom” surrounded Lot’s house, and told Lot to bring out his visitors “so that we can have sex with them.” The pro-homosexual revisionist argues that the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah was that the residents wanted to commit an act of rape. That the rape would have been homosexual is not an issue, according to their argument. However, Jude 7 indicates that Sodom and Gomorrah’s punishment was due to their sexual perversion. Their sin was not simply one of violence (rape) but of sexual immorality (homosexuality). Homosexuals get depression because our own families disown us for who we love. The same with suicide. And to say that homosexuals choose this lifestyle is truly ignorant. Paul also says in 1 Corinthians it is better to be single than to marry. If you are married you are to busy trying to please your partner than to praise God. What Leviticus meant by "a man shall not lie with another man as he does a woman" is not to make another man unequal to you. Men were always regarded equal to each other, while women always belonged to a man, whether it was her father or her husband. Leviticus was basically property law. And what makes it okay to quote Leviticus 18:22 but when somebody mentions any of the others, Christians say that the Old Testament is just for stories and the laws don't apply anymore? Stop using the Old Testament and we will stop telling you to not eat shellfish or to have no communications with a woman during her menstrual period.
