What I am about to reveal is a Topix Exclusive that busts this case wide open! A reliable BBCo insider provided me with a logical explanation of what happened to cause the whole mess about the missing money, favoritism, corruption, ineptitude, etc.

Years ago Aliens from a distant planet sent massive seedpods to Bourbon County containing creatures that could assume the exact physical likeness of any human they chose. Although they appeared to be human, these alien pod people possessed no human emotions and, like plants, were concerned only with propagating themselves. The County Treasurer was just one of many innocent citizens that were replaced by alien look-alikes.

As luck would have it, because the alien life form was cut off from its native food supply the Aliens developed eating disorders and eventually were forced to return to their home planet. Hooray!

The innocent victims of this Alien Invasion were only recently awakened & released from their pods, and to this day have no memories of the cold-hearted, selfish greed and malfeasance perpetrated by their alien look-alikes.

I have several clients who have claimed these very same facts, so I have investigators out searching for the pods. So far none have returned with any convincing evidence but I intend to keep drinking on it.

I accept that the case is cracked but am worried that not all the Aliens left. I worry that some stayed behind. The ones I suspect are Aliens multitask like crazy but don’t seem to accomplish much. They just seem busy … spinning their wheels creating a lot of smoke if you know what I mean. There are lots of other clues too, but what I need to know is how can we verify that the Aliens are gone?(without violating ethics & everyone’s civil liberties and breaking more laws)

Also, I think an Alien assumed my identity as well. What should we average citizens do?

It should be reported to the Sheriff's office! At least, they should try to recover it from the bonding agent. Wonder how much more will be unaccounted for when Rhonda Dunn gets in there and starts trying to balance all the accounts?
