The new pool is so nice! I think the capacity is more than adequate. I have been taking kids to swimming lessons for two weeks, and the only complaints I have is that there is no shaded seating area for parents...and that the benches on the east side for the kids to sit are solid metal with no coating. It is like sitting on a burner...craziest thing I have ever seen! Other than that it is great, and hasn't been crowded at all!! Love it!

I am glad you are pleased with it but I am hoping it will be crowded because they estimate revenue based on attendance and we would not that to fall short of what is expected because it has to come from somewhere. They had said they averaged 300 people per day so the 400 person capacity should be more than adequate but still less than the 600 person capacity of the previous pool.

Seriously, you need to do your research before voting like I do. No wonder the town is in such a fix. The materials are very easy to read and probably a third grade reading level should be sufficient. You asked about capacity when you attended the meetings where they explained about the pool costs and amenities, right? Surely you would not vote for something without realizing what you were voting for, right? I heard they were at the elementary school promoting it so surely you could have gotten the scoop from your kids or maybe neighbor kids. It has been over a year since the information was available but I take it you did read the small print on the ballot that said if the sales tax failed to raise enough to make the payments that the property tax would be increased to cover it. You read that right? Probably not. Do your research as that will help you remember to do it before you vote the next time!

the new pool is ok and everything but i dont like the rules my daughter has been going down the slides since they opened but now she cant but she allowed to go off the diving board whats with that and then on the 4th she was told by a lifeguard that she couldnt go on the lily pads this is a bunch of bs i dont think i will be going back i will just go to the lake

I hope everyone that voted "yes" for the increase in sales tax is using this pool so the city residents don't end up paying for it with their property tax in the coming years. And, I would have bet good money that people would be griping about it once it was completed. The way I understand it is that usage fees at similar pools continue to creep up so use it this year while you can still afford it!

The two dollars was just for opening day. After that the regular price applied.

sure wish I was a low income welfare lackey and would have gotten free year passes for my family and kids. I work my butt off and yes I bought a membership for my children but why should people that sit home and draw welfare get things for free ? I understand their children have just as much right to the pool as anyone else's but alot of the welfare people are capable of working and DON'T !!! It's annoying

excuse me do you want to give me a job so i could afford 150 for a pool pass if so then i would gladly pay it out of my own pocket

"a reliable source" told me that the pool has already paid for itself. the tax increase is now going towards the golf course. we never voted on its purchase. it will never make a dime. can you spell corruption?

I hadn't heard that anyone got any free pool passes this year. I myself can't afford the 150, but then again we only go to the pool about once every two weeks or so. I guess if we had a pass we would go everyday, but I usually wait til after 5 pm to go. It has been to hot to go otherwise. I am guessing the pool will be closed today due to the rain.
