"Plies" is pure garbage. He represents and fosters in youth the very values that are destroying our society. Not even worth one star.

Another ghetto fabulous rapper trying to make his mark in the hip hop world. No Doubt this will sell, because unlike rap music from the 80's & 90's, this CD has no message worth listening to. Thank god, african americans are not the top buyer of this "coon music" (white folks now hold that title). I'm so tired of it. Please start stimulating our minds instead of putting this garbage out for white and blacks kids to listen to. This rapper will probably be forgotten about within the next 5 years. Trust me.
Thanks

Isn't it special that the Sun-Sentinel chooses to glorify a "foul-mouthed" rapper. Where is their decency? Who watches over the content of this paper? Freedom of speech includes the choice to ignore garbage. Oh, excuse me, I'm out of touch with todays "culture".

Yes, it's foul, yes, its crude, yes he said that out loud! But rap is what african americans live through everyday. We don't make this stuff up, we just compose it into a song. How is urban American going to advance and keep up with society if thye remain ignorant and turn a blind side to these LOUD cries for help! It is the responsibility of parents, especially white parents since their children are the top consumers of such music to prevent this R rated material from landing in their children's hands!
p.s. I applaud the Sun for stepping out of this crazy mold and writing articles that appeal to all!

Are you kidding me, what flipping crack did you smoke before you wrote this. Black People live this? The words of Rap? Why is that? Why is it any race can make it possible to rap ghetto words that they have lived? PITY!!! This is USA and even though this country is no longer about Freedom, you still have the choice on what moves you make.
Palease, maybe white people need to talk about the baggage of shit they get everytime a Mexican or Haitan moves here illegally and we get to cover the bill, lose our jobs and lose our homes. If talking sh*t through a song is justified by the way a person chooses to live than hell, we ARE SCREWED!

Real hiphop....what is it? To me it's just you're opinion...people all across the world hate on the south saying our music is not real hiphop and what's lyrical...if you look back to the beginning of rap nobody was extremely lyrical besides bdp, eric b and rakim, and a few others...think about it..." now what you hear is not a test i'm rappin to the beat". it was about having fun and dancing..planet rock stuff like that...but do we hate on that "NO" thats where it started and NWA took it to another level...nobody said anything about PAC rappin about "thug life" but when we do it now its bad for the kids to listen to, but we have movies like saw, saw2 and saw 3 that kids are watching...Plies to me is rappin what people go through everyday....so what people say it's not real hiphop, it's something I call "reality" not fantasy...but we call amuesment park and straight to the bank "Real Hip Hop" because 50 made it...it's crazy how people hate on the south...when the song laffy taffy (I personally hated that song) came out, it was oh the south is killing hiphop..but when chicken noodle soup come out, nothing is said..is it because it was a song from new york..I'm a fan of music, no matter where it come from, it's music from the south that i don't like...I guess a lot of people don't understand the southern culture and how we live, our vocabulary...I was reading one review about plies saying he was racist for saying cracka...in the south the word cracka is a term used to refer to white people, but majority of the time they are talking about the police, we are just a different bread down here and until you come to the south or experience the south then you will never understand...My opinion on the album I have listened to it everyday since I got it..Am I a thug? no. Am I in the streets No...I chose to live a different life But I know people that i'm very close to that live that life and when you see first hand where it can lead, you either choose a different life or continue that path....Music is Music entertainment, not an educational experience....

Plies should not be shunned for his explicit lyrics he is very unorthodox and that's what makes him a philosopher of the streets, some people need to realize everyone isn't in the gleam of the rainbow, the storm is much longer, despite impolite lyrics the message is universal, give him prays for "Runnin' My Momma Crazy", we've all done that but can't apologize, at least he's man enough to do so.
