Call for arrest of watch captain who shot kid

Mar 19, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: New York Daily News

ORLANDO, Fla. -- College students around Florida rallied Monday to demand the arrest of a white neighborhood watch captain who shot an unarmed black teen last month, though authorities may be hamstrung by a state law that allows people to defend themselves with deadly force.

sorry, but I don't see how Trayvon was acting "shady" by just going home!
and once again, WHEN and HOW did Trayvon have an "opportunity to tell Zimmerman he was a guest there? He asked Zimmerman why he (GZ) was following him...and instead of a response he got shoved as per the phone witness..
This was in a CNN article:

Trayvon Martin's girlfriend, talking to him on the telephone, heard the teenager saying "get off, get off," in the moments before his cell phone cut off and he was shot dead, according to a recording released Friday of the girl's interview with a prosecutor.

He was out of breath from running away, and scared, she said, and decided not to keep running because he was close to the house where he was staying.

And as Zimmerman drew closer, the girl said, Martin called out," Why you following me for?" according to the recording.

"I hear this man, like this old man, say,'What are you doing around here?' " the girl said.

Zimmerman has a very high pitched voice. LOL

The girl said she called out to Martin, asking what was happening, but he didn't answer. The next thing she heard was a bumping sound, followed by what might have been a scuffle.

That's when Martin was in the process of assulting Zimmerman.

"I could hear it a little bit,'Get off, get off,' then the phone just hung up," the girl said.

"a little bit" LOL I can't wait for the cross examination on her. LOL

So there goes the idea that Martin was disoriented and didn't know where Greens front door was. It was probably Zimmerman saying "get off, "get off." LOL

I get all giddy just thinking about Crump putting her on the stand.........I can't stop laughing!!!!!

****assault******

What was GZ doing at the age of 17.....working several jobs, going to school and helping others through the church (alter boy 7-17).Busy in such a positive way.

What was Martin doing at the age of 17....let's see.....selling drugs and using them, working on his Gangsta Profession, skipping school, assaulting adults, stealing, admiring his tatts and grill, defacing school property,and a multitude of school suspensions. These are only a few things we know of. What a difference a good up bringing makes in the character of a person. Trayvon was busy in a negative way.

If Crump has even half a brain he won't put this little liar on the stand. Her story has changed multiple times. The defense will chew her up and spit her out.

There's bad apples in both parties, Angela Corey happens to be one in the Republican. Yes Zimmerman was over charged., whether or not he should ever have been in the first place. It's true what they say "In order to achieve what they call justice, they created injustice."these cases just reek of huge egos and politics that are abhorrent. And of course the "race hustlers" in the Zimmerman case none other than Jackson and Sharpton.

This "child" is the murderer of another child. I'm sorry for the circumstances that made him what he is, but it is unlikely that he can be rehabilitated, IMO.

Jasmine Rand is an attorney with Parks & Crump, L.L.C. in Tallahassee, Florida, where she leads the firmís Civil Rights Department. Her evolving practice focuses on civil rights, wrongful death, civil rape, and catastrophic personal injury. Notable representations include: a police brutality case involving an eighty-one year old man shot to death on his own property; a policy brutality case involving a mentally ill inmate beaten and tasered to death by officers; premise liability rape cases; and a wrongful death action in which a diver was killed in the propeller of a yacht in the Bahamas. In her first year of practice, Jasmine prepared a Petition for Rehearing for an employment discrimination case before the United States Supreme Court. When necessary, Jasmine represents her clients against law enforcement agencies, insurance companies, and large corporations in State and Federal litigation.

Prior to graduating from law school, Jasmine worked for Greenberg Traurig, LLPís litigation department in Atlanta, Georgia under the tutelage of Ernest Greer, Esquire, and for the Southern Poverty Law Centerís Immigrant Justice Project on human trafficking cases and immigrant justice issues. While at the Southern Poverty Law Center, Jasmine assisted in editing a best practices manual for publication titled, Civil Litigation on Behalf of Victims of Human Trafficking. Jasmine is fluent in Spanish and used her language skills as a bilingual international union organizer to serve disadvantaged populations, and supervise an international campaign to fight for workersí rights against a multinational corporation.

Jasmine is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in both African American Studies and Political Science, while also earning a minor in Spanish. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law, where she achieved membership on the Mock Trial Team, graded on to the Business Review Journal, served on the Black Law Students Association board and won its Outstanding Member of the Year Award in 2007, and founded Alternative Breaks, an organization that provides pro bono legal services to low income individuals.
Jasmine is admitted to practice in the state of Florida as well as in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. In addition to her dynamic legal practice, Jasmine is also an adjunct professor at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, where she teaches Legal Problems of the Poor. Jasmine looks forward to serving on the National Bar Associationís Young Lawyers Division board as the Community Service Chair, on the National Black Law Students Associations Advisory Board, as a judicial training panelist on cultural diversity issues for the Florida Commission on Human Relations, and on this yearís Host Committee for IMPACTís Nationís Best Advocates.

Jasmine credits her success to her grandparents, Beverly and Ernest Gray, for the personal sacrifices they made for her education.

all we wanted was that the process of justice should be followed, if...

...sorry if that offends you, but that's what I feel...
LIAR... the PROCESS was being followed. some folks just couldn't deal with the TRUTH... about what happened that night or about what type of person THEIR son WAS.
and now, after there has been NO evidence forthcoming to dispute GZ's story (they met, he was attacked, he was on the bottom, the gun THEN came into play, he feared FOR HIS life, HE FIRED one shot, at close range, TM was killed, period, END OF STORY), you'all STILL can't/won't accept the TRUTH!

seems like EVERY TIME this gal re-rells her story, or it gets retold, it gets longer and more informative abour what TM said, what GZ said, and now, even what TM supposedly DID.
her first version, that I read about, was TM told her he was TURNING BACK, she then heard 'something' and then the phone went dead "like it was dropped".
that tells me:
GZ lost sight of TM and foolishly went to determine, NOT CONFRONT, where he was;
TM, having TURNED BACK instead of walking 70 paces HOME, then, possibly, turned a corner;
as DID GZ;
and they 'BUMPED into' each other;
GZ maintained his grip on his cell, maybe because he WASN'T running;
TM lost the grip on his cell, maybe because he WAS RUNNING;
THAT was the 'sound' DeeDee heard, plus the cell dropping and going dead. she also may have heard, while the phone was falling, TM say something like 'WTF?..." as he would have been startled by the suddenness of the 'meeting'. that would also explain, IN PART, his REACTION (when a human is scared, it is either Fight or Flight, TM obviously chose Fight).
SIMPLE HUMAN NATURE.
