Hi all! I thought this might be a good place to get some information about Rock Hill. We are moving there in about a month (or at least that's the city we have chosen near Charlotte). Does anyone have any feedback about the city? We live in Montgomery, AL and so there are ares to stay away from due to crime. Is Rock Hill like that? I also have no idea about the school system or schools that are better than others. If anyone could help be out, I would appreciate it so much! Thank you!

Rather than Rock Hill go up about 3 miles and consider the York County side of Fort Mill, SC which is the next town further north just past the Catawba River. The home prices are about the same but I think the overall property values will go up a bit more in Fort Mill, which has excellent schools and good services (the school system is one reason why we've moved there).

We're currently living in an apartment in Rock Hill and we haven't been that impressed with the RH area, although I will say that Cherry Road has about every fast food restaurant one could ever imagine or want.*lol*

No, you have to do it in person at the town center - they require photo id to turn it on. It only took us 10 minutes when we did it.

the school system in ROCK HILL< SC as well as Fort Mill are among the best in state... fort mill is not very developed, so depending on what type of area you like... rock hills population is appx 70k, and they do have alot more to do than fort mill which is about 12k....i would have to say living in both cities, rock hill far outways the "country" living of Fort Mill.

I think Fort Mill is a far cry from "country living" considering it is between Rock Hill and Charlotte, NC. Plus, it is pretty much considered a suburb of Charlotte, NC. If anything, it is less country living then Rock Hill, SC - since it is closer to Charlotte.

I agree that Fort Mill is not "country" living at all - it's small town living, sure, but not country by any means. And with a 20 minute drive to Charlotte I would also agree that it's more a long-distance suburb to C'lotte.

Rock Hill is gay. It sucks. There is nothing to do here. If you want to have anyfun what so ever you have to go to Charlotte. Which isnt to bad. But yeah what to do I know.

You guys should also try Lancaster SC. It's close to Charlotte, Rock Hill and Fort Mill but is the latest "hot spot" for real estate.

Your name says it all.

Rock Hill and Fort Mill are nice places. They have
improved over the years. I graduated from York Tec
in 1979.

Now I live in WNC. But I have also lived all over the United States with a medical mobile unit. I
was able to see lots of small towns and communities.

As far as the "gay" comment, in WNC we call it diversity. And whether you like it or not, it is in
all the areas of the United States.

If you do not like living there, move on.

Frank welcome to "Rocktardia" even if you succeed to get your utilities on people in Rock Hill can't get things straight. We have lived in our house for 3 years and our phone still is messed up. My yard was tore up from the water company and not put back right and to boot the electric company screwed up our bill several times as well.

Now the latest thing is the post office was forwarding our mail to Charlotte, NC. If you live here you should be able to deduct on your taxes for helping mentally disabled people.

When I lived in Rock Hill the electricity was purchased from Duke Power. This was in 1975. Somewhere the city was making money off of the residents who depended on Rock Hill Utilities.

A group of us went to City Hall from an apt.com plex
and had a protest about the rates. One apt. the guy
was out of town, and shut off his breaker and still
received a bill in excess of $50.

It is better to live in the county rather the city
limits where you do not have a choice of anything.

I liked the area at the time. Have not been back in a long time (1990). WNC is my home.

I have been visiting Rock Hill all my life and I can tell you that it is a wonderful peaceful place to live my mother is from their and I know you will like the area and it depends on where you like to live and your expenses for living. I'm from VA you can go to the local police and get reports of crime statistic from the area in which you choose to live and the best selected schools. I thought I would help you feel better about this great place

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
