Always irks the daylights out of me when someone does the old 4 lane crossover to exit because, god forbid, they go to the next exit and do the turn around. Time is sooooo important, but not seatbelts. Dummies!

BUT.......... what is the SOLUTION to these many severe devastating problems America is facing due to auto vehicles?

.
o DEADLY AND DESTRUCTIVE crashes happening on a CONTINUING basis. Death, injuries, maiming, misery, damage to property and infrastructure, lost job productivity, destroyed personal and civic finances and long-time lingering effects start immediately upon being involved. Effects on other traffic in the nearby vicinity and even not so nearby vicinity, stalling the flow of traffic lanes that people use to get to and from work, etc. Measures for PREVENTING the crashes, such as driver licensing and establishing extensive traffic laws and road rules, costly traffic enforcement and control, driver education, vehicle safety rules, are all proven to be ineffective.

o High RECURRING private and civil costs to own, maintain, and operate auto vehicles.

o Severely negative nationwide effects due to our heavy dependence on foreign imported oil, for which auto vehicles are the major cause.

o Ability for extremely dangerous crimes against the public to be easily (and often successfully) carried out via the use of auto vehicles.

o Physical damage that is being done to our environment and precious resources.

o Emotional and moral damages that are being done to our society.

o Taxpayers and consumers are literally paying out BILLIONS of dollars for the infrastructure (roads, lighting, signs, bridges, guardrails, traffic jams, road maintenance, repairs, traffic enforcement, emergency responders, Road Rangers, parking facilities, junk yards, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.) for auto vehicles to get around.

o And ADDITIONAL negative aspects of auto vehicles are:: 1. the lost productivity (inability to read, study, work on computer) that each solo driver sustains in the daily commute; 2. the lack of physical exercise (drive instead of walk, bicycle to station / bus stop); and, 3. ease of access to fast food drive throughs, thereby contributing to increased incidence of obesity.

What a horrible shame that the deceased / injured got in a auto vehicle.

Had the deceased / injured NOT got in a auto vehicle the deceased / injured would still be with us.

Yes, there sure are plenty of these crashes. It would not be so bad if that was ALL that was wrong with auto vehicles. But unfortunately there are a myriad of other HUGE problems also. We (taxpayers and consumers) are literally also paying out BILLIONS of dollars (with a capital "B") for the infrastructure (roads, lighting, signs, bridges, guardrails, traffic jams, road maintenance, repairs, traffic enforcement, Road Rangers, emergency responders, parking facilities, junk yards, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.) for auto vehicles to get around. And, our heavy dependence on foreign oil of which auto vehicles is the major cause is devastating us as a nation. Our Insurance business "landscape" for our auto vehicles is going to change dramatically. This change in the Insurance business "landscape" is evidently going to bring bad hardships to owning and driving auto vehicles. Plus, other additional negative aspects of auto vehicle use are: 1. the lost productivity (inability to read, study, work on computer) that each solo driver sustains in the daily commute; 2. the lack of physical exercise (drive instead of walk, bicycle to station / bus stop); and, 3. ease of access to fast food drive throughs, thereby contributing to increased incidence of obesity. All of these very serious types of problems, including the number and frequency of these tragic crashes, you will not hear much about from the auto industry, AAA (American Automobile Associaton), the travel and tourist industry, the oil companies, the FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation, the USDOT (United States Department of Transportation, etc., etc., etc.). Get rid of auto vehicles. We will be safer, wealthier, healthier, and happier.

For the love of God, would you get a job or a hobby? Complaining on a message board isn't furthering your cause. If it's that serious, get OUT of your HOUSE and go DO SOMETHING about it, rather than whining. Otherwise, sit down, shut up and grow a pair.

It's not your place to decide what is best for anyone other than yourself. We're all sick of the refuse that you spout.

Simple question ----- why were they driving at 4:45 in the morning????? Even Starbucks doesn't open until 6:00. Can we guess that overindulgence of substances may have played a factor - along with the immaturity and inexperience of all involved. Parents - do you KNOW where your children are? And WHY NOT!!!!!
My condolences to the families, I hope that your sons practice better judgment.

Some people would rather crash and die than miss their exit. Early morning? Either an early flight at the airport or too much booze to drive. Any way, stupid equals dead. Thanks.

Well, if she was anything like you and Rachelle, it's no wonder she crashed. Looks like the world lost a great text messager, which was probably what the dummy was doing when she crashed. Hurry up and get in your cars and see if you can follow suit.:)
