How many times do they have to post this?

Forgive me for not being able to attend this oh-so important waste of time meeting, but here's my vote by proxy- NO!!! What a $hitty idea- charge us for what we've already paid for? Screw these crooked politicians and their handouts to the contractors- enough is enough!

The article is at least truthful. The public is invited to discuss the issue. The decision has already been made based soley upon financial reasons. Luxury car lanes have been discussed for years, now they will be a reality. Only in Florida. Guess the Republicans will call it no Lexus left behind.

Stick it to the politicians that vote for this! Fix the highwys with the taxpayers and national funding you already receive, dont make me pay more for you to do your job!

what a waste! people without sunpass will just drive right thru onto the lanes and clog them up...we do not not need to waste more money on express lanes that WONT work, we need more lanes and mass transit...fast!
|

indeed! |

MUST HAVE FOLLOWING OR WON'T WORK:
1. FHP CONSTANT PRESENCE 2. MINIMUM SPEED LIMIT, NO SLOW POKES CLOGGING UP BOTH LANES! |

Back in the late 50’s, when the politicians were pushing the building of the Florida Turnpike, we were told that the tolls would only be collected until the original bonds were paid off. How many years ago did that happen?
You can go to these meetings, and you can spill your guts about what you think, and when it’s all over, the politicians are going to do what they have already decided to do, because they are getting money on the side. If you want your representatives to do your biding, make your thoughts known at the polls. Admittedly, it will take several votes to get across to these shysters what you expect of them, but short of another revolution -- which in my opinion is the best way to go -- it’s all you’ve got! |

Leaves things the way they are.

WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO PAY A TOLL IF WE ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO USE THE CAR POOL LANE. IT SOUNDS LIKE DISCRIMANATING.

When outer space aliens land they WILL NOT SAY:
Take me to your leader. ( as we have none ) |

We just need to get rid of the car pool lanes. Car pools are a joke in South Florida. Were not a vertical metro area like in the North East.

And I wonder who will get the revenue?!?! Will this money be used to beef up public transportation in the Tri-county area? It is a very silly idea any way you look at it.

exactly, we will always be spread out over a large area and carpooling in numbers that make any difference will NEVER happen. We have ALL (except illegals) already paid for the lanes (HOV included), just open them up to everyone.....next they will want us to pay tools to use certain 95 exits. |

*tolls

Forget the tolls. Eliminate the HOV lane by opening it up to all drivers. That will increse the available road space by 20 - 25 percent. As an added benefit ...no more slow downs caused by drivers gawking at the flashing lights while FHP writes tickets (they have better things to do). It's a win win deal for both tax payers and drivers, costs nothing and can be put into effect at any time.

greating more space for more cars is not the answer. Cars is the question (how to reduce them) The answer is high speed rails.

This is a great idea. Now we can have rich peoples parking too where the wealthy can park up front in the handicap spots for a few extra bucks, rich peoples express lane at the airport screening, and rich peoples access to government. We really need to keep the dirty lower class from getting in our way, they just plain smell and their bad luck rubs off on you.
