Exclusion of whites alleged at Fort Lauderdale political forum

I can understand the confusion that Westside Gazette Publisher and Racist Bobby Henry is experiencing.
We live in a world where BET, the United Negro College Fund, Black Colleges, the Miss Black America Pagent, and on and on is social segregation that is accepted as the "norm". The fact that Henry would feel it to be perfectly ok and within his "rights" as a publisher, event promoter and Black racist to exclude White people from a political forum being held in a county owned property named the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center does not suprise me in the least. With a name like that, does it SOUND like a place where White people would be either accepted or welcomed?
Oh, and Henry's comments about the Jews? He must have read Jessie Jackson's books!!

Bobby Henry really doesn't matter. So few people see his newspaper - and the real black community no longer lives along Sistrunk Blvd.- who cares? The S/S has given him more exposure with this one story than he'd get all year. Likewise, to speak to a limited group of black politicos who again have little impact upon any community doesn't serve anyone very well.

Please name an organization the "white organization of whatever, it is time for the black community to own up to excluding whites.

This is plain discrimination. This reverse discrimination of whites will backfire.

Well, if that is going to be going on and tolerated then I find that it is perfectly fine for us all to start having whites only this and whites only that. Time for whites only scholarships, whites only colleges, whites only forums... If they don't have to move forward and we all know they refuse to, then we're not going to either. Oh well! Bring it all on themselves!

The real victim is Bertha Henry. No chance now for the County Administrator job! She can thank her husband.

Anyone who knows Bobby Henry expects no less, but the remarks of Chris Smith is the surprise. If this were reversed in any context, there would be outrage, and this should not stand.

As far Bertha Henry, this should not impact her prospects for the job, but commissioners know they can find a professional candidate to move the county forward.

In closing, not for the fact that a public building was used, who cares what that paper does?

Let's get real...and Rodstrom should get a grip. Throw Henry a few campaign ads and he would have been allowed to participate, this is no secret.
I'll be back in town next week, but right now commissioners should send them a bill, and make policy changes to prevent racist events from taking place in its facilities.

But a public building was used. These are the same liberals that want to kick the boy scouts out of every school, because public schools shouldn't support a group that is "anti-gay".

Personally, I'm still waiting for the county to build the Irish American library, the Italian American library, the German American library..........

The First Amendment guarantees all citizens, black or white, the right of assembly -- and that means choosing who they want to assemble with. What Mr Henry proposed (a black candidates only forum on public property) was a stupid idea -- but its certainly within his consitutional rights to be stupid. And his "the Jews do it" rationale is beneath contempt. But again, not illegal. "We want to hear from candidates that look like us" -- not exactly the way a minority acquires any power or status in the broader community, just stupid.

Hope his wife loses her promotion at the County if this represents the thinking in the Henry household.
