Water deemed safe, but residents still wary in Davie enclave

The water is safe now. But people here are still afraid to drink it. In two mobile home parks and an apartment complex, 5,500 residents buy their water from Ferncrest Utilities, a small private company.

Class Action Law Suit is on the way!

Admission of guilt by sending utilities customers letters of notice of "bad water"...selling people contaminated water.

Gives a whole new meaning to:

"Drink/Drinking yourself to death".

About Erin Brockovich
My Work
August 10, 2008
My work, as all work, can become a real challenge. I have learned that DECEIT becomes one of our biggest challenges and our biggest enemy.
My work is about helping people get the answers that they need and help them find the deceit that ends up jeopardizing them. My job isn't to try to be the lawyer. I am not the scientist. I am an everyday person who wants to help others in time of need or a least be a shoulder to lean on.
It is through awareness and information that we can protect ourselves, our families and our health. It is the absence of knowing information that we become vulnerable and stand defenseless to protect ourselves.
So many people write to me because they suddenly become curious as to why all their neighbors or family and friends have been diagnosed with a cancer or illness and their children maybe sick, yet they don't know why or what to do. Often times community members suspect a near by industry as a possible cause of the problem but are unsure and will contact me searching for help and answers.
I want to help each and every person the best way I know how. It is through communication with you, applying our commonsense, searching for information and documents, finding the right lawyer and standing united that we can fight back against an enemy we can't always see, until it is too late.

I believe they are drinking bottled water at city hall, despite all the assurances of top quality. That should be a comforting thought given the corruption, incompetance and arrogance Holywood is famous for.

Everglades Trailer park is located:
1.) alongside 595, where it gets completely covered in car exhaust,
2.) in the flightpath of Fort Lauderdale International Airport, where it is completely smothered in jet plane exhaust,
3.) across the street from the Wheelabrator Trash Facility, where GOD only knows what hes leeched into the groundwater supply,
4.) smack in the middle of an industrial complex, where every chemical known to man is released into the air!
NOT exactly Utopia!

Site Description and History

In this public health assessment, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) in cooperation with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), evaluates the public health significance of the Florida Petroleum Reprocessors site. Specifically, FDOH reviews environmental data, community health concerns and health outcome data to determine whether people in the community might be exposed to site contaminants, and if so, at levels which might cause harm. The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA or Superfund) authorizes the ATSDR to conduct public health assessments at hazardous waste sites. The ATSDR, in Atlanta, Georgia, is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Florida Petroleum Reprocessors (FPR) is in Davie, Florida (See Figure 1, 2, 3). For the purpose of this assessment, we define the site as the area shown in Figure 3. The site includes most of the south Peele-Dixie Well field and is bounded by Peters Road on the north, US Highway 441 on the east, the Florida Turnpike on the west, and Oakes Road on the south. The source of contamination is a 1 25 acreparcel of land at 3211 S.W. 50th Avenue (See Figure 4). From 1978-1992, various companies including Barry's Waste Oil Service, Oil Conservations Inc., South Florida Fuels and Florida Petroleum Reprocessors used the property as a waste oil transfer station. The facility received, stored, blended and delivered waste oil to asphalt plants, phosphate mines and other waste oil reprocessors. The facility stored wastewater in an unlined pit, stored tanks in an area surrounded by an earthen dike, and spilled waste oil on the ground. The facility is currently unoccupied (EPA 1997).

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP; formally known as the Department of Environmental Regulation) frequently cited the facility for violations. In 1981, FDEP found highly contaminated soil, possible groundwater contamination and "sloppy" facility operations. In response, the owners placed their storage tanks on a concrete pad and surrounded the area with an elevated mound of soil. FDEP's follow-up inspection found significant improvements

That is a shocker! People that don't trust the government. After countless lies from the government and overpaid bloated salaries for the bureaucrats, why would anybody trust the government?

...since 1987!
I got hooked on filtered water 21 years ago and I can't imagine drinking the toilet water that comes from the tap, especially here in Florida.
The guys at "The US Water Treatment Company" in NJ are great to deal with and honest.
I have bought countless filters from them including Reverse Osmosis, Shower Filters, Counertop units, Whole House units, etc and I have never had an issue! It is much better than that Brita crap and I can actually drink my water and not worry about it having any "mystery" flavors or chemicals.
I think the site is uswater.net , but I have even seen this company selling their products on QVC.

why would anyone believe any of these clowns about the quality of the water, and remember the bottled water you buy is not regulated as much as tap water so there is no sense in wasting your money on that. Only stupid people spend money on bottled water-a fool is born every minute. In south fl, they pour sewage down deep wells to get rid of it, them it seeps int the water system and you clowns drink it-lmao!!!
