E-mails to City Commissioner Cindi Hutchinson mostly forgiving

I wonder if I get all of my friends and business associates to send me nice emails, would my supervisor give me a raise? Well, I guess she is better at stealing than ducking under snipper fire. Go figure.

Now the citizens of Fort Lauderdale will just have to forgive Cindi for allowing City Manager George Grestas to drive the city to the brink of disaster.

Or she could admit she made a huge mistake and own up to the consequences by firing him and then resigning.

Gimme a break. Did Cindi release EVERY email to the reporter? I'll bet she got an earful from a lot of voters. And BTW....Dean Trantalis wasn't exactly a pillar of ethics either. Didn't he break some building code laws & try to throw himself a going away party with city funds?

Cindi's little postage scandal is no big deal. I'm worried about the things that didn't get reported. She sure did tow the line for the big developers who exploited the real estate market & left the citizens with a property value crash. Follow the money & evaluate the integrity of the commissioner before you vote.

This forgiveness stuff is ridiculous. Seems like everyone feels better about their own mistakes when they can "RELATE" to another wrong doer. Helps to relieve their own guilt when they can say "they did it too."

What's appalling about this story is not the "theft" of $4.32 in city resources, but that Cindi's instinct was to lie to cover it up. As the Sentinel noted in an editorial:

"City residents are right to wonder that if she used deception to hide a $4.32 expenditure, what else won't she cover up?"

Honest, trustworthy people don't lie first and make apologies later. She should never be our mayor.

There are a lot of nice people who lie. None of them should be Mayor.

She got caught and now is trying to back pedal. If the people of Fort Lauderdale vote her in, then they are idiots and it just shows the fact that most Americans are stupid.

Cmon Donna. Use some Common Sense. Do you really think that one envelope that was found is the only envelope that she mailed out? All we know is that is the only envelope that got returned to City Hall.

And by the way Donna, which church is it that teaches that the first thing you do when you get caught doing something wrong is arrogantly lie about it!

Yep, my Common Sense tells me we need more elected officials like that to run our City.
