This news is extremely disappointing to hear. The Magic signed Grant to a hefty contract, even though he was on crutches at the time. They worked with him throughout the myriad problems & complications with his ankle (and then the hernia situation). I realize there is little loyalty left in professional sports these days but I always thought Grant would "pay back" the Magic by playing another year or two at the veteran minimum to make up for all those years he was making max salary and wearing a suit. If he wants to play for a contender, why can't he stick around Orlando, accept some of the responsibility for their play last year and contribute to making the team better in 2007-2008?

Ouch... that kind of hurts. Almost feels like dating a supermodel who fell on hard times.... only to have her leave you when she gets back on her feet again...

Police say Magic Fans stabbed during free agency period
By DFC

July 05, 2007

Orlando - Magic fans remain in stable condition after being stabbed in the back during during the free agency period this morning, police said in a statement.

At 12:14 p.m., Orlando police found the fans, who they said were bleeding from a stab wound they received during the period.

The victims, who can not be identified by authorities, were said to be in stable condition. Detectives believe the event took place after a current Magic player decided to seek employment elsewhere after robbing the team of $93 million over a period of seven years.

No arrests have been made as of yet, but authorities remain optimistic that the suspect in this case will be aprehended. "We understand the suspect has a bum ankle, so he can't get away very fast" said police Captain Jack Sparrow.

Anyone with information on this case is advised to call RDV Sportsplex.

The Suns? Can he even keep up with this team? At least people had fond thoughts about him in Detroit. He could have hung around as the team mascot.

ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME?!!!! Who the heck does Grant hill think he is or think he has done to deserve to be in a contender. He straight up robbed us of our money and says he wants to play for a contender. As if by aquiring Rashard Lewis doeent already make us a contender in the east. By the way ..Go to usa today .com and you can see an article about a deal the Magic are working to get Ron Artest for Hedo Turkolgu...It is also on Espn.com ..Rashard, Ron, Dwight?!!!..the east is ours!!!!
I can understand KG wanting to be in a contender..He has earned it but Hill?!!!!...He deserves to be banished from the state of Florida.

This guy has not class, he can stay for the minimum with Orlando. What is he adding to the Suns. The suns are not going to replace Marion for Hill. He should have stayed and payed back Orlando and to help the upcoming team.

This is very disappointing. Grant Hill made $93 Million dollars over 7 years but only earned a little over 2 years worth. The Magic stuck with him throughout all his trials, including not being able to sign other free agents and get better because he made so much money sitting on a doctor's table. Tracy left because he didn't have any help. The least he could do is give back to a team that invested so much in him. This is really sad.

I like Grant Hill, but this really sucks.

Grant Hill milked our franchise for millions of dollars ... then, when he's proven to only be a moderate contributor, he packs up and heads to Phoenix for the same amount of money that we would have offered him to stay?!?

I ... I can't believe this. Obviously, I was wrong about Grant Hill's character.

very disappointing to hear.

apparently, he feels that the Magic is not a contender and not a good fit for his skills.

Ok.. lucky for Hedo, he will have GH's spot. man, the starting will be tall except for the turnover-prone-midget. Hopefully, we can get either Steve Blake or Laker's Smush Parker.

THERE IS NO PRIDE IN BEING A MAGIC DURING THE LAST 6 YRS WHERE HE PRACTICALLY WAS GIVEN 93 MILLIONS FOR MINIMAL PLAYING TIME. NOW HE SELLS HIMSELF FOR 1.2 MILLION. SHAME ON YOU.

Goodbye Grant and good luck, or should I say break a leg? Hopefully we don't have to listen to some BS news conference about, "Orlando will always be in my heart. I plan on returning when I retire. I'm so thankful for the opportunity they gave me! I wish it could have turned out different!" BLAH, BLAH, BLAH! You went for the cash and got it despite not earning it. Now you go for the shot at a title with the Suns in the west. I sure hope that doesn't happen because you surely don't deserve it!

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Gemini

A little give and take goes a long way, so try to be flexible and malleable when dealing with others. It will also pay to ask people what they think rather than to make sweeping assumptions on their behalf, because you could be in for a surprise. A child may have some interesting information for you, or they could make a statement that really sets you thinking.
