Oh, come on.

The tree cutting was a farce from get go. A sorry ass idea with no real data to back it.
1900 feet??? Huh?

I'd get inspectors on my yard that came from yards with sick trees.
Do you think they protected my trees in any way shape or form from carrying, and spreading the disease?

(BTW, my trees were spared, so I have no personal interest in getting money)

This disease is in a lot of other countries. NONE of them cut their trees. None of them have lost their trees to the disease either. They dose them with an antibiotic. They keep it under control.

Canker is here to stay.

Pay the homeowners, and next time do some more research before destroying private property.

Agreed...And I do have apersonal interest. They took 3 of my trees and about 25' of sprinkler pipes the govt. workers ripped up to take these trees. I lost...big time...on that deal. Yes...I am a greedy bast. ard. These eradication workers were ridiculous. Looked like they came through my yard with a back hoe. They get what they deserve.

Gold-digging dumbs.hits. Florida doesn't owe you anything. They were looking out for YOUR interests. If they hadn't taken away the neighbor's tree and yours got screwed up, you would have sued FL for that too. Get a grip.

If anyone thinks this is about justice for people who lost their tree's, think again. This is all about a huge award, which the attorney's will get a very large chunk of if they win. It's so B.S. If the state has to pay for a stupid tree, what will be cut from the state budget to pay the award? I also wonder if the attornies would've taken the case if they only received 5% of the potential award? Hell no. They are scumbag leeches. Justice my butt!

oh people, get over it. So you had a tree cut down. Cry, and then move on. If you have the state reimburse you, guess where that money comes from - everyone who lives in the State. So quit crying a river, change your own diapers and get on with life.

This will teach those ignorant money stealing rights abusing stinking carpet bagging politicians to keep their minimum wage tree cutting lackies out of our back yards and off private property. Hey dummies, if you didn't pay for it you don't own it.

The State Government violated simple basic human rights, and the constitution. If I chose to defend my property at that time, I would get hauled off to jail. How can anyone think that this wasn't a despicable violation of personal property? In Cuba, or China, etc..this happens because no one owns their property. They just live on it. I find most Liberals agree with the Govt. Most Liberals gave up personal freedom long ago!

The State overstepped its power to protect a business interest over the rights of homeowners. The eradication program was a complete fraud in every way it was executed. Healthy trees were killed if they fell within an arbitrary boundary to an infected tree. News channels reported that the tree cutting crews were actually spreading the canker because they failed to decontaminate their boots and equipment. People went to jail for standing their ground to protect their properties. Right or wrong, the state was not protecting the public interest. They were protecting a private business interest.

Oh give me a break with your constitutional B.S. It threatened a billion dolar industry. You all would be whining if the citrus industry took a huge hit which also hit all the revenues the state gets that's associated with it and your taxes skyrocketed to make up the difference.

You don't enjoy the same constitutional protections in your yard as you do inside your house. Also, the government can take your house with good cause under emminent domain. So why not your stinkin tree, which many people just let the fruit drop and rot anyways?

I'm so sick of the San Francisco types screwing everything up. Maybe if that left wing judge Leonard Fleet wouldn't of stuck his nose into it, the cutting down of tree's would've been far limited.

They don't think. That's the problem. What also got cut down was the state's money tree. And if there's a huge award that's upheld, everyone will be paying. It just sickens me though to hear these attorney's with their "righteous" cause and that evil nasty government. B.S. It's all about $$$$$. If it weren't, plaintiff's would get more and the attorney's less!

Next time a tree is cut down, I hope it falls on the head of one of those attorney's!
