Chad Pennington headed to Dolphins?

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The Brett Favre trade to the Jets may have more repercussions to the Dolphins than having to face him twice a year in division games, including the season opener on Sept 7. With Favre joining the Jets, it ...

Please Miami no Pennington! I realize he is smart but cmon....I think I can throw the ball with more zip on it than he can. Actually I am pretty sure of it. He is an INT waiting to happen just because of lack of velocity....the defender has so much time to recover.....let Beck play and see what he can do with a proper offensive coordinator and actual running game. The games Beck played in last year were so unfair to a rookie...Jesse Chatman and Samkon Gado were his threats as running backs....he had no chance.
Beck stinks. Pennington in and Beck gets cut.

Sink or swim with the two young guys and Mcown as a back up. Pennington is NOT what the fins need now. Run the ball 75% of the time this year and rely on an under-rated defense to pull a few games out while the offense develops. Surprise some teams 7-9 to 8-8

As much as you would love that, no, that is not how it would go. If Pennington does sign, and Parcells said today Miami is going young and wants those young players to grow up together,(making Pennington not part of the equation) McCown would get the boot. Parcells and Ireland look at both Beck and Henne as developing players....neither of them are going anywhere Gay for Brady Quinn Boy...lol!!!

Good Luck with ol' noodle arm.
I wonder if the Dolphins can use any old office furniture and some other crap..I heard that the Bills were throwing their old stuff away, perhaps the Dolphags can use some of the junk.
Good one!

This would be a classic Dolphins move here. Rather then let a young player try to improve and take the job they go out and get a has-been(and that's a generous description) to be a stop gap on a sure-fire losing team. Trent Green, Gus Frerotte, or even McCown ring a bell? It's as if they had a good QB who got hurt and they still want to try and make the playoffs with a replacement. Let Henne or Beck play and get better. There are no minor leagues in football, the only way for young guys to bet better is to play. The Dolphins need to stop pretending they're good and let the young guys develop. They can't have it both ways, trading away all the best players but still acting like they have a chance.
I agree! Great post sir! NO PENNINGTON PLEASE!

we better get Chad cause he gives us a better chance to win now !!! He knows the Jets playbook as well as anyone . we play the Jets twice. we need to sign him and ambush the Brett Favre party thats planed for opening day in our house...like the Bucs did to the Raiders in the super bowl. they new the plays and the raiders had no chance...

Chad may have a "noodle arm" but his stats can't be
ignored. I hate the Jets as much as any Dolphin fan.
He's injury prone but knows how to move an offense
when he's healthy.

This is a no-brainer, yah Chad isn't the best quarterback ever but he's been in bigger games than MCNOWN and he can be a better mentor for Henne the next couple of seasons. At this point I don't see BECK ever starting in this league. He's a career back up, mark my words. We need to bring in Chad and trade MCNOWN for a 6th or 7th round pick.

Thanks for making the JETS a playoff team while you were here. It's intellect, drive, passion and then the arm in football. The arm still has zip and the touch is incredible. The Dolphins would be smart to pick up this man. Coach Parcells picked him #1 and sould do so again. Even after his playing days are behind Chad, his coaching days will be a gift to any team or new Q.B. Chad is also one of the nicest and generous guys in football. He is a class act that still has a competetive fire and talent to share in the NFL. Good Luck Chad.

Singing Pennington would be a smart move. He knowns the AFC East and he knows Parcells. Im Pretty sure that he could at least match whatever McCown or Beck could do. Plus he could mentor Henne. Because Im pretty sure everyone knows singing Pennington isnt a long term move. He probally stays with the Dolphins for 1-2 years while Henne gets ready. Then the Phins will have a QB for the future.

Time for another election in So Fl. so time for the chads like in 2000. Think we paid for that debacle? Look give anyone an offensive line and with a little mobility they can get the job done...Next Parcells will be wooing Romo. Forget the chad.

Has nothing to do with showing up on a giants board they beat us, I am man enough to say they out played us. Lets remember what your record was last year 1-15 thats all thats got to be said and not looking good for you this year neither

A Pats fan on a Dolphins message board? I'm surprised you have the nerve to show up here. What's the matter? Still lack the balls to go talk trash on a Giants board? Getting your a-s-s kicked like that must still sting. Man, is David Tyree something else. Eli burned through New England's secondary in crunch time like Oprah through a quart of ice cream. It's amazing the Pats can't win a big game nowadays without video cameras.

YOU NEED TO GET A CLUE. THIS IS A BUSINESS.
CHAD MAY NOT BE THE BEST IN THE NFL BUT HE HAS A BRAIN WHICH IS MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR MOST OF YOU. YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOUR GETTING WHEN YOU GET CHAD. IF YOUR LINE CAN PROTECT HIM HE CAN GET THE JOB DONE. THUS THE PROBLEM AT THE JETS THEY COULDNT PROTECT THE QUARTERBACK. CHAD IS ONE OF THE BEST AT MAKING QUICK SMART CHOICES WITH THE FOOTBALL. KEEP HIM IN THE POCKET AND HE CAN GET THE BALL THE OPEN RECEIVERS.
