If you hired Till and the Board to make decisions with your personal money, you would fire all of them. What if you asked them to make a decision on how to save money on your electricity bill so that you could later afford a new roof but they came back with information that they had purchased a piece of land at an astronomical price. How will you now even pay your electric bill? Bad decisions cost too much money...stop the madness.

Till is the worst thing to happen to education. He and the board (most of them) do NOT care about our kids' education, just the scores they receive on THE TEST. What Dinnen calls "gains" are not a true indicator of our children's gained knowledge. Dinnen is another who needs to find a new job. She has yet to answer one email when serious concerns were raised. Her staff takes phone messages but she never returns them. I had to bring concerns to the newspaper and they were printed. Still, Dinnen refused to help or even comment. I write to Kraft, Marty, Galliger, and they listened and responded. Why is that? The ones "for" Till don't pay attention to the kids, parents, teachers and do as they think is right. The others listen, either make the changes or explain why they can't. To me, they are true representatives. Till is the leader and those who suck up to him and shine his shoes are not worthy of their positions. I am so sick and tired of those in elected positions feeling they know better and ignoring the will of the people.

Board members have three challenges
1- FCAT scores have been good

2- Our kids have paid dearly for the over emphasis on test results losing precious time that should have prepared them better for college and life -- you voted to deemphasize benchmarking yourself for the better performing students and somehow it continued -- worse yet, what do our community colleges tell us about how the struggling students have not learned the key skills and need massive remediation

3- The back door politics have been brutal -- if you have felt it at the board level can you even imagine the politics that people have been the subject of who do not have your power

Time to say thank you for the FCAT progress and we want much more

Seize the day and open the door to a better future for students, teachers, administrators and the community

The Only Sad part that is if they FIRE the Problem will still exit with most most of the current Board Members there, I would get rid of all of them except one.

Unless 8 of the 9 are willing to quit then the problem will be there long after Till departs, and they will blame someone elese for their own lack of leadership.

Till has a business manager who reports TO him, and that is a mistake. Make the two positions report directly to the Board. Make Till serve out his contract, then "adios." Then the finger pointing on the Board must stop.

There is no excuse for business affairs to be handled so poorly when Till asked for, and got, a business manager to handle those aspects of his job.

I say, Mrs. Kraft get out your broom and start sweeping! Till's incompetence and lack of leadership is at the top and only trickles down to where staff is unaccountable for millions of dollars of mistakes. What else is there that hasn't been discovered yet? Till has been asleep at the front of the school bus. Time to retire him. Go gently into that goodnight.... so our kids can make REAL academic gains --- not the smoke and mirrors game that you put on.

I guess Kraft doesn't like the negative publicity coming her way and at the school board because of the LLL school/land fiasco that recently became public, soo what to do - ah, lets fire Till, blame him for everything we can think of. Since this school board is now looking at everything, why weren't they aware of many of these problems before? I have to think that all important information dealing with any and all schools has to pass their desks. Were they all remiss in their duties and are now trying to pass the blame on someone other than themselves?
Makes you wonder where they've been for the last few years, no public outcry before. Sounds like a witch hunt just before Halloween, I'm sure Till has made mistakes, but why is the board clamoring for him to be fired right now?

Dinnen gave Till positive marks in her review.

"The Superintendent deserves credit for our successes," she wrote. "Student achievement is our number one job, and we do that job very well."

I'd laugh if this wasn't so frightening.
Has she looked at the state rankings? We are still the bottom of the barrel in education and funding. How do these people judge? We are an embarrassment tot eh rest of the nation, they're laughing at us and we have these idiots claiming success.
Clean freaking sweep!
Our minimum requirements for voting in new members has to be proof of their residing in reality.

Good point, maybe the Board is attempting to cover up a much larger masquerade at Halloween (pre-election). I wonder how much pressure they are feeling from the unions that are hosting the party. Mark it down...much "pseudo-outrage" at the Board meeting followed by a vote to keep Till. I hope everyone is keeping score of how many times the Board members' votes do not correspond to their pre-vote bantor. They always express concern for the "children", but never act on it, from their perspective or otherwise. Just stating the obvious for those of you who don't already see it.

Dr Till has done a good job. The system will not let the staff, of our schools, deal out the proper corrective action for disruptive students.Don't try to hang one man, go after the ACLU.

I for one am happy that Marty Rubenstein has withdrawn the School Board agenda item J-2. I thought that he was ready to take decisive action to stop the bad land deals that are typically costing the district big bucks, over and above appraised values.
Now that he has pulled the item, we brokers can continue to get much higher prices, without regard for the appraised values of properties we are selling the the School Board.
Thank you Mr. Rubenstein, I thought for a minute there that you had intended to represent the taxpayers, but in the end you came through for us again. We will all remember your kindness on election day.
Hopefully, we can strike a deal on some land in Sunrise before the election. Let us know how we can be of service to you...besides our vote.
