They are only bodies to this administration. Our military is in such bad shape under this administration and our troops are suffering enormously. It is time to get out of Iraq and to put someone in charge of the military with half a brain. This war is Bush and Cheney's way of playing toy soldiers at the expense of our troops. They should have to spend a couple of months on the front lines. This war is fast becoming worse than Vietnam.

I agree with Veteran Warrior, a POTUS needs experience in battle, on the front lines. A VP needs experience as USN Officer. Why would anyone elect a person to POTUS if they have no experience.
In Vietnam to quote old sergeant Major; all the Pentagon wanted each day was body count.

If those in our government wish to start a war, they should have to send their own children and relatives first.

If that were the case, we'd find out just how important that war really is.

So I guess you are a supporter of John McCain. His older son served a tour in Iraq in the Marines and his other son is in the Naval Academy. Bet you didn't know that.

Well, unfortunately when we leave in a year or 100 years it's going to be a mess. So why not sooner? Americans don't want their sons and daughters policing this country anymore. It was obviously an enormous misstep for us but it's time to restrengthen our military for real potential problems on the horizon like crude oil production and cost. One can only wonder if we had spent as much money as we did on this war on production of a new energy source how much better place the world could be.

Actually, I'm not for EITHER candidate. I don't think either one is good for this country right now.

You missed my point. The point had nothing to do with candidacy, it had to do with starting wars. As far as I know John McCain didn't start the war in Iraq. We actually should be sending the Bush twins to the Middle East.

Where are all the patriots who questioned my love of country in 2003? Why aren't they enlisting to fight this war they wanted so much? Anyone with a brain in 2003 realized that Bush was making excuses for his war of choice...but 50% of us still voted for Bush in 2004. They must support his war right? So where are the volunteers?! Or are you telling me Bush got re-elected because of low-brow fear of homosexuals and abortion?!

This country is wacky. Oh well, what's another five years of failure in Iraq? The only time things get better for the US Military is when the Iraqis decide to take a break from the fighting with a cease fire!

Haven't enough people died and lost limbs and sanity for this? The Iraqis weren't ready, we didn't bother to ask, and now we've got this mess. Let's cut our losses.

Besides, if Saddam had been assasinated, these same groups would be fighting over the same things.

We gave you 5 years, you failed. Let's go home and lick our wounds.

Perhaps we should have sent in the Blue Helmets and the Job Core.
How easily we forget our military took out the largest army in the Middle East in less then a month.
Did they not sign a treaty with the world after the first Gulf Conflict?
Why were they shooting at our planes in the no fly zone (almost daily)?
Why did they suspend the inspections? What was it they were trying to hide?
Did Sadam promise to pay the families of suicide bombers in Israel $30,000.00?
How long do you think it would have been before they were blowing themselves up over here, at the Bus stop or in front of your children’s school?
It’s about time America stands by word.

Believe it or Not;
Some Americans believe that the Freedoms we enjoy today are their Right to possess.

But some brave men and women know that Freedom is is only a 'Priviledge' that people have to fight for to attain and to keep.

Some brave men and women also know that there are much worse ways to live and die, than fighting for that freedom.

We have our freedoms today because of those same brave men and women who fought and died.

The were many in George Washington's day who thought the Revolution for America's Independence should not have been fought, or should have ended sooner, or that the founding fathers should have sent their own children first and they belliached and moaned and argued.
And there were also deserters and those who remained loyal to England and traitors and spies and cowards.
But then again, there was also France who helped us in the battle, much like we are now helping Iraq.

And that's how Freedom is Won.

Believe it or not.

It takes brave people.

although I believe what you have to say, I don't understand the connection between that and Iraq?

perhaps you can explain to me how my freedom and my country were threatened by a two-bit dictator named Saddam Hussein.

On the other hand, I do understand how our country is threatened by a man named Osama bin Laden and his backup singers, Al Qaeda. But they're in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
