Asking candidate Obama in 2008 if he would commit to reforming the immigration system this was his response: "I cannot guarantee that it's going to be in the first 100 days. But what I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I'm promoting and that I want to move that forward as quickly as possible." That first year came and went, and now we're 41 months into the Obama administration. There's no immigration bill in sight. Keep in mind that in his first term, Obama and the democrats controlled the house and had a filibuster proof senate. Why did he break his promise on immigration reform?

Why did he break his promise on immigration reform? why did he break his promise, its simple. If he keeps them wanting, they will vote democratic because the dems push for it. If he pushes a bill past, it then opens the doors for more of the people he let in to vote republican because the dems have nothing new to offer them. Keeping them waiting almost insures they vote democratic.

The President can't just issue blanket amnesty, he needs for congress to act. They've been sitting on their thumbs and meanwhile we have all sorts of immigrants who can't find work because their papers haven't come through yet. I saw one Korean family eating a can of Sheba the other night and I felt sorry for them. At least Sheba is high in protein but the point is that they can't even get a decent job because of Congress.

"to extend leniency to DREAM Act-eligible people and others with clean records." There is no dream act. Clean record? Anyone in the country illegally does not have a clean record.

But I guess his supporters like you obviously know his agenda. Once again the dems controlled all of Washington in Obama's first two years including a filibuster proof senate. Obama wanted Obamacare and congress passed it. Obama wanted the 800 billion in stimulus and congress passed it. Obama and the democrats could of done what they wanted during that time. The question remains, why did he break his promise?

Yes each and everyone of these people broke the law and trespassed into the USA used fake SSN or someone elses. Worked for cash paid no taxes. Then get a job sneek their family in and have more anchor babies. They can all go wait at the back of the line apply like my wife did and wait and wait pay processing fees before Ronnie Reagan did opened the flood gates and statred this crap. i got to go my blood pressure getting a little high. He probably just got caught up. Some things take time and when you factor in all the amazing accomplishments you just mentioned with killing OBL, ending the war in Iraq, saving GM and all the other marvelous things he's done, you realize that his plate has been full. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was the Gateway Arch which is why we need another term for him to complete his agenda.

Larry wrote: <quoted text> He probably just got caught up. Some things take time He had time. He had the power in the fact that democrats controlled both houses and had a filibuster proof senate. He made a promise, had the power to pass any legislation he wanted such as Obamacare, which did not get ONE GOP vote to pass and didn't get one GOP vote. He made a promise, had the ability to come through and never pushed any immigration reforms and the best excuse you can come up with is "He probably just got caught up and things take time". Next lame excuse?

Next lame excuse? No lame excuses at all - facts are facts and there's only so much legislation Congress can pass, no matter how much of a majority they have.
