Yeah , go ahead and close that place, does this community absolutely no good.
The hundred jobs that it might provide, are filled mostly by transplants. The town and the county didn't want that boondoggle in the first place.
Hey state of Oregon, wanna save some money? Then get rid of human garbage like David Schutt, Lake County's DA, and other human parasites that work within the Government here in Lake County.

You sound like an angry person in need of therapy! And by the way, what do you care since you live in Albany? Go drive a truck or herd some farm animals! Really, what is your point?

The Point is, if I may Interject, is that NO ONE in LAKE COUNTY wanted that prison. It was voted down twice, by the people, but the department of corruption went ahead with it anyway. With the infrastructure crumbling in Lakeview, that was the last thing they needed.
As for Schutt, everyone knows that the man (sic) was a mistake in the first place, then with him accepting personal favors from his x-secretary for looking the other way is appalling to all. He has destroyed businesses of people as well as reputations in Lake County. So before you go blowing your mouth off, you should be aware of the facts.

I lived in Lake County before and after the prison was built. The people voted against it repeatedly, the state decided not to build due to problems with state funding, and the Lake County Commissioners wasted precious County funds to hire a lobbyist who managed to get the prison built and running. Now here we are...no more funding to run it. How much did Lake County pay? How much did Lake County gain? The cost far, far outweighed the benefits.
As for Dave Schutt, he's a vindictive coward who uses his position to abuse rather than to do good. You're right, he's done outrageous harm during his time as Lake County's District Attorney.

Well think of it this way Lakeview had nothing going for it before it was there, has nothing going for it now, and will be just as sorry when and if the prison closes.

I would do a little more research regarding the employment of "transplants". There are many local individuals whom are within the surrounding area working within the prison walls. Sounds like the x-secretary of the District Attorney has some moral issues of her own. It always amazes me that the people don't want a prison until some type of crime invovles them directly. Then they will want a prison to house a criminal. Got a bunch of criminals living in the Surprise Valley area too, some just don't get caught or are above the law in Modoc County!

Not to say some of the locals (surprise valley too) are "trashtastic" or someone who dresses trashy and looks fantastic.(Maybe it takes a lot of money to look so cheap.)

Although, the D.A. of Lake County has hella moral issues than any secretary.

That's why David Schutt thinks he's above the law, he's so "trashtastic"!!

Not so much against the prison, it's the judicial system and the D.A.'s office that wrongfully convicts people and sends them there. Lake County Circuit Court has a fifty percent overturn rate, while the rest of the State is two percent, on convictions that make it to Appeals Court. Maybe that's why the Governors Office is closing Lakeview's prison.
Modoc County California has has a higher property tax and a State sales tax, yet their economy and per capita income is much more vibrant than their neighbor to the north, Lake County.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
