The tax exemptions for some of the businesses I can see, that helps attract business which employs people. It makes the city attractive to those businesses and industry ie: TSYS, Columbus Foundry, CEDC/KPG, PCI, AFLAC, Cosmyl, etc...

The problem is that the tax exemptions are not offered to businesses outside of the connected power players, which is why Columbus can not attract high end industry only things like a new carper manufacturer from KIA, these type manufacturing jobs can quickly relocate overseas or other regions since training new workers is not extremely difficult, the high end and technical industry does take long to develop a work force and companies would rather stay or take the workers with them. The Development Authority does not want these jobs since it will compete with the few we have and drive wages up, and bring in a lot of outside capital to ruin their control party.

Now the tax exemptions for things like:
Carl L. Gregory, Four JS Family, LLLP Hotel, Greystone Multi-Family Housing, Rivertown Ford, WLB,LLC Multi Family Housing, Johnston Mill Lofts m ulti-Family Housing, Northgate Village, Fairtown Inn & Suites, Residence Inn, The WCBA Family LLLP, ECLA Family Partnership, LLLP, McCarley Moving and Storage, Columbus Park East, LLC, Inverness II, Cascade Hospitality/Hilton Garden Inn, Kenney Properties, Place Properties, Sunbelt-TCG,LLC, Grove Park Apartments, AFCO Lodges, Inc., and Lumpkin Park Apartments

Those are an outrage, hotels and car dealers do not need tax exemptions they will go where the people are regardless that is inside dealings. These are also exempt from the LOST that is nuts to. Apartments and housing developers no they do not need incentives either unless it is just as deferments but not exemptions again they will build where people will be and that is their investment they will make millions on millions on these properties but because of some greased palms and some illegal influence they will make more.
