it migrated from the west side because of the proximity to the "jungle" on Grand and Mannheim and the proximity to Stone Park, Northlake and Melrose park which have had long time issues with these crimes. It only has solidified. Most west side gang bangers' families have moved to Northlake.. so they brought the business closer to home.

Heading south on Mannheim road from Belmont one can spot the hookers and their pimps. Not often but they are there. South of Mannheim road more activity can be seen. The center seem to be around Fullerton and Mannheim.

I've observed people coming off of Mannheim road and walking Lincoln Street. These people appear to not be sightseers but rather couriers, order takers and lookouts for the drug and prostitution trade.

If you are a concerned resident and you live on Lincoln or Ernst and see suspicious people, call and report this to the Franklin Park police.

Of course people have the freedom to walk on most any street that they want. But these unusual off the main street people seem to have other interests other than a Sunday stroll. If the concerned residents call, the police will come out and at the very least show a presence. This is much appreciated by us residents and may be beneficial to the continuing investigation.

Many of us have cameras. Don't be afraid to use them to document the unusual.

The residents of Franklin Park appreciate the work of Sheriff Dart's intelligence department, investigators and patrol personal. A thank you to Franklin, Stone and Melrose Park's Police departments for augmenting the investigation and arrests.

What I often wonder is, how do things get this far to start with? Not only is crime increasing, but our real estate taxes are escalated in such a deflated area. Something is wrong with that picture. As you can see, abouy 70% of our RE taxes to go the schools.

There are knowingly, multipe sets of families living under one roof, yet sending the multiple family of children to the schools, thus, we have to absorb the excess costs. Garbage bills went up a year ago because of these multiple families living in one house, yet having excess garbage.

WHEN is it going to stop and WHY isn't it being stopped?

They are told...don't park on Fullerton and obstruct views. What do they do....they still park on Fullerton and obstruct views? Where are the people that are suppose to watch and stop this stuff. It doesn't help to make a rule if it isn't followed.

As a Black American on the near north side of the city, I feel appalled and disgusted that ghetto blacks are being moved into nicer areas by government mandate, and bring those areas down. There is a lot of room in a lot of areas of the south side which are not slated for gentrification to which their kind could and should be herded.

We're not moving them our of Lincoln Park fast enough (Cabrini was supposed to be gone by 1992), and the nicer "mixed income" housing they're being moved into, they're already destroying to feel more at home. A cockroach is at home in filth, so move them where the filth is instead of enabling them to create more where there is none.

I hope that the cops and good citizens of the townships along Mannheim will step up and take back their neighborhoods in the most effective manners.

This post and actions taken to correct measures are not racist. It's not the fault of the good citizens that so much of the problem is from ghetto blacks.
