The Bible accurately predicts that in the last days of this age of grace that many churches will fall away from the truth.

Thank God for some good old-fashioned, Bible believing, Bible teaching churches that still exist!

Kill any unruly teenager or stone to death any prostitute lately? After all, that is "old-fashioned" Bible believing and Bible teaching.

That indeed STILL occurs in Islam which for some reason has become a stagnant toilet unable to move forward and leave the middle ages behind.

However, my answer still stands: old-fashioned bible teaching and bible believing does require the killing of prostitutes or unruly teenagers (or have you forgotten Leviticus?)

That Christians (at least most of them) have abandoned the practice is indeed a relief; yet, the lunacy written all over the Bible is indeed there and can pretty much be used to justify anything anyone wants.

yet we find many xtians screaming for a return to the old ways, that the bible should be read in whole -

trouble is their whole is full of the holes they tend to leave out in order to leave themsleves some wiggle room, but not for others they deem sinners...!

I guess these fallible persons from this church body never read Romans Chapter 1

Romans 1: 24-27

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

MAYBE THEY TORE THIS PAGE AWAY FROM THEIR BIBLE OR used a dark pen to block these verses out.

Love for our neighbor does not trump what God calls sin.

This church body is described in the book of Revelation.

To the Church in Pergamum

Revelation 2: 14-16
14Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality.

15Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

16Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Yes this church body is definitely doing wrong in God's eyes. In the name of political correctness, to appear tolerant by overlooking this sin...they are teaching sexual immorality to those in the body and everyone who is not of the body of Christ.

We can have compassion for those who engage in same sex relationships, but I cannot rewrite what God calls sin...and NEITHER CAN THIS CHURCH BODY.

May those in this Lutheran church read God's words:

Revelation 2: 17
17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

GOD SETS THE RULES....NOT MANKIND! He is our Creator. May we honor Him in our love.

Actually it does.

Love God and love your neighbor are the two Great Commandments. Everything thing that is not motivated by one of those is a sin. All other Commandments are derived from and codification of the two Great Commandments.

Which is why Paul said that the OT provided types and examples for us. We have two Great Commandments and all the other commandments were examples of how to obey them. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we no longer need the six hundred and something other commandments from the OT to tell us how to obey the Great Commandments, we have the Spirit of God to lead us beyond the letter into the Spirit of the Law.

revelation is an apoCRAPhal book and has nothing to do with how to behave.

get a freaking historical clue, revelation wasnt written about us, but about that time and about roman empire. none of it relates to us...and never will...

and of course YOU interpret the book properly. another in a long line of morons...

God is the judge. I don't think He'll be happy with your zeal to take over His job.

How is it unnatural for gays to be attracted to the same sex?

Why not go after drunks, whores, thieves, murderers and the divorced?

What about those awful people who sell shrimp and pork and those who eat it?

Picking and choosing won't matter to God.

Do you love God?

Do you love your neighbor (with no addendum about who they are or what they do, at least not from Jesus).........

It i snot about idol worship...it is what those wanting to deny sexual sin so they can excuse themselves from sinning...so they do not have to confess sin in their lives...so they can find a way to keep in sexual sin.

It is like saying looking at pornography is not sin because the bible never mentions it.

The scriptures are clear that a man laying with another man and a women laying with another woman IS SIN.

This is our culture today. We do what pleases ourselves and we say the heck with God is telling us what sin is.

We make our own rules. I am not one that does. I sin against my Lord. But I try earnestly to live a holy life....as he has commanded us to do.

1 Thessalonians 4:7
7For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

I pray all will live a holy life.

I love God and my neighbor very much. But that does not mean I ignore their sins and tell them it is okay...you do not believe it is a sin...so it is not.

No, God sets the rules. I believe He is clear on sexual immorality...and I believe Him.

Tolerance for someone else's beliefs does NOT meant we have to agree with them...it only means we must find a way to live with one another peacefully. It means to agree to disagree.

I will do that with anyone, but I will not deny the truth of scripture.

God loves you and so do I!

As I stated previously, you are wrong. Romans 1 has nothing to do with sexual immorality or sin. Read verse 23. It appears that you are reading and interpreting scripture through bigoted lenses. Please take them off.

*laugh*

Yes, but MAN wrote the rules. Man wrote the Bible - both Old and New Testaments. Man wrote the Book of Mormon. Man wrote Koran. Man wrote the Torah. Man has written it all. And all of it supposedly guided by God's (or Allah or...) hand.

You're fooling yourself if you think God dictated whatever book you believe in. They are all born from the minds of Man.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Scorpio

Something about your personality or appearance is drawing a lot of attention today, Scorpio. People insist on watching when you'd rather that they minded their own business. Your stubborn streak at a time when flexibility would be easier. Be kind to those with long memories, especially if you think you might run into them again at some point in your life. If you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
