Full story: www.wsbtv.com

Come on, lets give in to civil rights groups and ease up those overly harsh laws on:
sex offenders
murder
Gang activity
robbery
terrorism
and
illegal immigration.
Havent they proven that they REALLY care about this country AND our safety !!!!
Lets just be nice to them and the criminals will reform themselves and begin paying taxes.

Lets just line them up and shoot them. I will do the job and buy the bullets. It will cost the state nothing. Then we will not have to house ....and feed these animals. Strip them of their rights....they arent worthy of rights paid for by Americans Soldiers blood. Why have we strayed so far from the solution. Public Hangings will settle all our crime problems. Our elected stooges lack the balls to do anything but protect this trash with laws. Like I said .....I will consider it a honor to rid the planet of any and all sex offenders

Turned in a child molester 2003. Let the cops handled him. Still wish each and every day I had simply accidently run him over, pulled over a ladder that had him at the top, took an interest in preparing meals with special seasonings, knocked a radio into his bath, gotten a killer dog, spiked his pot, gave him a air bubble while he was passed out, put ground glass in his rice, slammed the car into a pole on his side. He's still making appeals, crying about his violated rights. I may have gone to jail if I got caught, but at least this guy would have been permanently deleted.

You were right to let the cops handle it. For the most part, cops do their job. It is the justice system that they work under that has been a failure for the past 200 years and the liberals carry it on their shoulders with pride.

As an observation, and I know many will hate me and disagree, but I've never known of a reformed pedaphile! Once they start preying on children, they don't stop. They need their private part cut off, while their at it, in order to register, steeple it smack dab in the middle of their forehead where everybody knows their a pervert!

Mike, I agree that they do not reform.

There ARE changes that needed to be made in our current law. When each and every criminal is thrown in the same basket and there are so many of them, it would be helpful to know specifics such as which are predators, which were youthful offenders in consensual situations, and the the age of the victim(s).

Most of us probably live in counties where our tax payer dollars have gone to defense this law and that also needs to be addressed.

Sex offenders cannot be reformed and the best punishment for them is the needle. But since we don't do that and we let these predators out in to society we should at least tattoo a big 'S.O' on the foreheads of convicted sex offenders and implant a sub-dermal chip that broadcasts their location. Also cell phones should be programmed to listen for such broadcasts so as to inform the user 'sex offender within X feet'.

Couldn't agree more Maria, to me personally, I would have a hard time living next to a pedaphile, I have a 14 yr. old daughter, if some sicko layed a hand on her, he wouldn't have to worry about the law, I hope I'm never put in that position!

Many people are surprised when they check for the sex offenders in their neighborhood. They are usually closer than you think. It is good that she has you looking after her. She is a lucky girl.

She's my flesh and blood, I would give the last drop of blood to keep my little girl safe and alive, I spank her when she's ornery, but I'm not about to let somebody hurt her, she's the apple of my eye!

Easy to see that most posters haven't given much thought to this issue. Under the current laws all "sex offenders" are virtually treated the same, under the same restrictions and the same scrutiny. Wouldn't it make more sense for law enforcement and the community to focus on child molesters and rapists? It's unfair, unnecessary, and unproductive to ruin the lives of teens and young adults because of consensual sex. We may not approve of teens being sexual, but the fact is that most are. These young people have never nor would ever harm a child. They've done no worse than most citizens did in their youth, including legislators. Some states are adding more than 100 names to the registry every week. As much as 90% of those listed are of no danger to anyone, and so many names only make the few dangerous ones more difficult to track. There's no excuse for bad law. It's the duty of citizens to demand that legislators reform sex offender laws.

I have a two year old grand-daughter. Let's say we INFORM me of ALL offenders in my area and let ME decide the best course of action. If you're that concerned about youthful promiscuity, then perhaps you should spend your efforts changing the part of the law that labels them offenders rather than asking ME to just brush it off.

I'd rather be informed. In fact, I have one of those "youthful" persons you speak of living about a mile from me. I'd rather know that than not.

It's really disturbing to me to think of the folks you're defending. You're making excuses for young folks not being aware of the law and suggesting we should just brush it off. Sort of like saying, "I didn't know that stop sign was there, so I can't be guilty of running it".

Don't chalk this up to hormones, chalk it up to education, or lack thereof. I don't accept the fact that kids aren't aware of the consequences of their actions (regarding sex and age) and don't realize this will stick with them from now on. If they ARE this stupid, perhaps being labeled an offender will be a GOOD thing, alerting us all to their BAD JUDGEMENT!!!!!

Come on, join us in reality. I'd rather you defend dog fighting..........

Capn Gregg,
That's exactly my point. These young people should not be labeled as sex offenders and face the same restrictions and punishments as pedophiles and rapists.
I have in no way defended pedophiles and rapists. I don't know where you are getting that. Rather, I think we better protect children and our communities if we focus on those who are actually a danger.
These young people in consensual relationships are foolish, not dangerous to your little girl or anyone else.
Truthfully, your post doesn't make much sense, a strange brand of reality.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
