Hi; I am in my 80's.attended mc kelvy 1933-37 newmyer 38-40 dickson 41-43.quit school,went to work at switch and signal.merchant marine 44-army 45-48.moved to cal in 48.In my heart swissvale will always be HOME.It was a great place to be a kid in.people got along,everone drank at the local bars,and we even beat wilkinsburg in football in 1940.some of the bars were,fazio's,the canteen,nicks...thats all i can name.used to play war up on the knolls,mc kelvy playground,swam in the old rock quarry.one of my pals was tony fisher who once was the magistrate for swissvale.....

Once lived at 2118 braddock ave,7528 dickson st.Swissvale was a great place in which to be a kid.some of my old pals were,jack shea,tony fisher,leo bonner,dick horst,eileen dean,ed mathews,betty scafurri.swissvale was a great place to be a kid in.
