He will have 7 years to think about why he did this, every single day.

Instead of studying, let's be idiots and hit someone in the head with a hammer. Come on - who is stupid enough to think that isn't going to screw up someone or kill them. Only seven years? The guy is a worthless SOB.

In no way am I defending this young man who was the attacker, but he was 17, full of testosterone and feeling threatened. There is NO excuse for his actions, but those conditions might have caused him to lose control (well...obviously, he lost control). I can only hope he continues his education in prison and uses this as a time to better himself, so when he does go before that parole board, he can prove to them he has become a real man and not just another young prison inmate.

When your only tool is a hammer, every problem in life looks like a nail.

Hmm wonder how the girl in the middle of all this feels about this??

Jeolousy is a horrible thing. It makes us do and say some stupid things sometimes.

"It wasn't my intent to hurt anyone. It's not in my nature."

I've always found that if I don't intend to hurt someone, I'm more successful at not hurting them if I don't hit them in the back of a head with a hammer.

Does he not know the difference between "intend" and "plan," or is he lying to himself and the rest of us? His question to the shop teacher suggests he not only intended to hit the victim, but he thought about it beforehand too.

Ban shop classes. They lead to crimes like these, and dirtbags like Jesse James.

I'm late replying to this because I've been out of town for a couple of weeks. The answer is, I'm in Fontana, and have no idea how the website decided I'm in Anaheim.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Cancer

Your mind is working well, so give it plenty of exercise. You could get involved in an intellectual discussion that forces you to think things through for yourself, or you might have to do some serious thinking about a forthcoming travel plan. If you're often wary of saying what you think you'll feel much braver about speaking up today, which is good news if you want to fight your corner or express your point of view.
