How does a two time convicted felon own and operate a local watering hole?

Who? What? Where?

My husband and I moved to Silverhill in hopes of finding a welcoming and loving community to raise our son. Instead, we have walked around and tried to meet our neighbors and no one seems to be interested in meeting new people. What is going on here?

"no one seems to be interested in meeting new people."
Maybe you are trying too hard and too fast. Sometimes people might get the impression that you are being nosy. Give people some time to observe you and see if you take in your trashcan right after it is emptied, if you don't let your kids run on other people's lawn, if you keep your place neat and clean and if you are deemed to be good neighbors. Then, they will come out of their shell and invite you into their lives. |

The Thirsty Parrot in Foley. How can a two-time felon get a liquor license? |
You should ask the cops that hang out in there. |
All he has to do is get the business and alcohol licenses in another person's name, i.e., his wife, girlfriend or business partner. Don't you remember how Steve Russo put a lot of his dealings in his girl friends name. Same thing.
it's all in his brother's name.

I would to say that you should know 100% for sure and the story behind the owner of the Thirsty Parrot. They are one of the nicest families. My boyfriend who is a police officer, we all hangout there. If you were to go and spend one night in the bar you would forget all that felon (if thats even true) b.s. They are very nice people and caring at that. You cannot compare the Russo's story. They are a very loving caring family also. We all make mistakes! Not one of you can say you are perfect.

I would like to say that you should know 100% for sure and the story behind the owner of the Thirsty Parrot is even accurate or true. They are one of the nicest families. Thats why your husband is on paid admin leave for domestic violence? |
I know the Thirsty Parrot people personally, and have had nothing but positive experiences from them. Everyone has a past that could haunt them forever. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt and let them prove they have learned from their mistakes. Now if they continue to go down the same path over and over without learning from them, I prefer to dust my feet off at some point. In this case, there has been no call to do so.

Wow! We agree on something! The world may be round after all:) What I can not understand is why someone pulled up this blog after it being dead since May just to sling more mud at FPD.(not you Imangttia). This topic was about the Drunk Bird, not FPD. The ABC Board issues Liquer licenses, not FPD. The cops that "hang-out" there don't. I wish people could just stay on point. |

I want to know where are cops with all the fights and drug activities at Club Galaxia in Foley?
You have got me all wrong about being against the Foley Police Department. My beef is against the Former Mayor and City Council who apparently (and because the investigative report has been redacted and virtually kept secret) had great influence on the police department. I feel that the Foley Police Department was held hostage by them and was controlled by them and had to do things that they had no power to over-rule. These are the people I would like exposed for what they did but, it will never happen because too many Old Boys are in town that protect them and need them to further their own interests. Fortunately, whatever happened was so bad that we now have a good Police Chief that I hope maintains his independence from a City Council and Mayor that just might be so inclined to once again make the Foley Police Department their peresonal slave. |

Club Galaxia nor its neighbor YaYa are in the city limits of Foley. Consult yout local Sheriff for that answer. Side note: The Foley PD has and will continue to respond to those fights if requested to do so by BCSO. |

Club Galaxia and YaYa are in the city limits of foley and in the police jurisdiction. Just so you know.

Apparently you are not very "in the know." Those 2 establishments are not in the city limits of Foley. They are in the planning jurisdiction and might have to apply for permits through Foley, but the Foley Police are no longer the police service that covers them. Call the county and ask them. They will confirm this.

Trust me I know this from first hand experience. What makes you think that they aren't. The city limits goes to Co rd 10. There is only a small part just north of Co rd 10 on the west side of the highway that is not city limits.
