I wonder if the "wolf packs" will dress up as were-wolves for All Hallows Eve?
I wonder silly things like that sometimes.
I may need help.

Hoff, I really can't believe you dismissed my poetry like so much crap. That hurts.
Oh well. I guess I'm over it.

I stopped doing the halloween gig a few years ago. When 20-ish guys come up to the house,no custume,no young ones with them to get candy, they asked for more,I said I need what I have for others, they said they'd come back to see if I have any left! Then, the very kids that throw trash on my property, won't say any greetings to me the rest of the year, scrathed up the side of my car while playing on the sidewalk, one shot out my dining room window(never seen that kid before),found out he lived on the next street, kids comming off the bus, being dropped off from who knows where,I would have to have a grocery store full of treats to accomodate the crowds.Too much.I really enjoyed doing halloween.I dressed for it to greet the kids. Then I was actually threatened!"There better be more for me next year,or I'll punch you out!"That ended it for me.my nieghbors use to also sit out and wait for the kids, same happened to them.now no one on my block bothers.A shame.Sign of the times.

I wouldn't even consider these little bastards as wolf packs simply because there is pride and glory when it comes down to what a wolfpack really is. They do it just because they want to make a name for themselves aka (street cred). They are simple kids that are attacking in groups because they are too much of a bitch to do it alone. Simple as that. They don't deserve the title of a wolfpack

I grew up on Midway, In a time that has left us all.

It was a "neighborhood" meaning, Mrs. Okane would call my mother and tell her if I was doing anything wrong. Mrs Callahan had a whole clan of kids, and when one of them acted up - you could hear the phone ringing! You dreaded going home if you did something wrong and your parents already knew about it.

We used to play outside in the summer, past the time that the street lights came on, but we knew the night was coming to an end. You went home, nice and safe, anxious for the next day.

I guess it all comes down to "our parents gave a crap" and instilled self respect, and respect for others.

Too bad these kids can't have a normal upbringing and just be kids - they have to act out some bizzare sick action because something is lacking in their lives.

God help them.

Midway, sometimes I don't think that its even the parents to blame. People cna have the best of parents and their kids can still end up being involved with things that will damage their future. Basically if you don't have hard clear evidence that a kid is acting up, some parents wouldn't even believe it if you informed them. Start with the community. You'd be surprised about how much influence a community has on a child over their parents. Plus nobody believes in the honor and respect code anymore.

Why do they not believe in honor and respect? Is the end of the world nigh? Maybe the world really will end on December 21st, 2012 like the Mayan calendar predicts.

Yes, Midway, it was a neighborhood once upon a time. I grew up right around the corner from there on Wilshire. I mean, there were some assholes, but it wasn't dangerous to walk around at night like it is now. There is a stubborness in the black community to call police, and testify against criminals. Some say they fear retaliation, but that's bullshit. These little piss ant street thugs don't have that kind of power, especially if they're in jail. They've become apathetic to the crime situation because it's all they've ever lived with. Also cooperating with police is considered "Uncle Tom-ish".

color has nothing to do with violence..it is the lack of strong parenting and no repercussions. if these kids had been punished and watched over properly, this stuff would not happen. people should be required to get a license to have children, hell you need one for a dog.

put the parents in jail with the criminals and then see the changes!

Make no mistake about it, black Section 8 savages and their Phila. ghetto hoodies have destroyed not only Upper Darby, where it is unsafe anyplace, day or night, but also adjacent S.W. Phila., Yeadon, Overbrook Park, Darby, Winfield, Bala all of West Phila and most of Phila. in general. There is no safe public place day or night in any of these formerly white communities. A year ago, for instance, a black overpowered an Uppper Darby cab driver, got on his phone called the police and told the police that he just shot the cab driver in the head, and then laughed about it. He was caught, but what good is that?

The main problem is welfare. It needs to stop. When you are given healthcare, food stamps and a house to live in for free you dont appreciate it.

The neighborhood people arent going to call the cops on the thugs because of retaliation, plain and simple. The drug dealers are back on the streets in no time at all.

There is always one to step in place when one gets locked up.

These people are scum and need to get jobs and be productive members of the communities in which they live.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Aries

The behaviour of somebody around you (most probably your partner or family member) may be rather irrational today. Alternatively, a surprise involving one of these people is possible. Try to keep your domestic plans reasonably flexible to cover all possible outcomes. The focus is on improving your relationship with your partner or with friends today. Any outings should go very smoothly.
