Hey guys, i bought a 250$ visa prepaid card, and it didnt work. I went back to the store i bought it from, and they refunded me within 20 minutes. If you got your recite, just take it back. Vanilla isnt gunna do shit about it, they dont care. Go get your money back from the store you purchased it from,

Judged: 1 Rite Aid would not refund my purchase of Vanilla Visa. They said I had to take it up with Vanilla Visa, which of course turned out to be a complete nightmare. I only suggest to everyone that they NEVER purchase a Vanilla Visa card! |

Judged: 2 I believe all reps have a check list of excuses about why transactions are declined and ultimately hope that most people just forget it, move on and come to reality that it is not worth the trouble and time - and most probably go away. Lousy way to run a legitimate Business. |

For those of you on the activation stage, you have to email vanilla visa. I used my Vanilla Visa and it worked almost everywhere online except Blockbuster and bodyshop.com .

My son rec'd a $35 Vanilla Visa gift card for Christmas that never worked. We went back to the store it was purchased from and they told us we had to deal directly with the company. I called Vanilla Visa on the 9th of January and faxed the information to them the next day. I called in Feb to see if it was issued yet and they said it was on the way. We hadn't rec'd it by the middle of March so I called again. This time they told me that the fax that was sent for the copy of the card was too dark and could not be read. So I faxed it again on March 20th. I called a couple of weeks later. They said we should have it in the next week or so. After 3 weeks I called again. It's on it's way they said. I waited another couple of weeks. By June I called again on the 6th and asked to speak to a supervisor. She (Kim) said they would do a check on it and would have an answer within the next 48 hours and that a manager would call me back within the next 24 hours. There was no manager call back. I called again 5 days later. The supervisor (I forgot to write down her name) I talked to said she would call me back by the end of the day. She never called back and left no record of the call on the account. I called again today and spoke to another supervisor (Bianca) she said she would have a manager call me back within the next half hour. No callback. It looks to me as if they have no intention of ever reimbursing the gift card.

I have been using mine at at a Conoco gas station for gasoline. It works fine. I did try a couple of restaurants and they were both declined. You also have to say CREDIT although the card says debit on the front.

As posted by volumes of irate customers on this website, they have had MUCH difficulty receiving competent and valid help by calling the number on the back of the card for customer service. And WHY should the process for redeeming this card be so difficult and UNuser friendly that it should even be necessary for customers to have to continually call your customer service, in so many cases, in the first place??? FIX the system for this ridiculous scam of a card, and maybe you can restore your business and make it one of integrity that customers will want to patronize. Otherwise, STOP counseling your customers to do these futile exercises just to make the card work! The customers who have posted on this website are only a representative sampling of those who had problems with your card and bothered to warn the public at large. Most customers will not even bother to report problems in writing but will just steer away from this card and verbally warn everyone they know to do the same. The fact that THIS many people continue to write in about problems, with VANILLA VISA particularly, pretty much speaks for itself.

I agree! I had almost $200 on my card and it took out almost $100 for no reason! I've tried calling customer service and each time the line had a busy tone. I needed this money for travel expenses for my daughter's treatments in another city and these cards were given as donations. I have no idea how to get the money back. Has nothing to do with how someone can use a card or how to do math. These cards ARE a ripoff! |

As a Canuck, it worked for me too. It gave me my accurate balance in exchange for a log-on ID and password. Now I can just sir back and wait for the spam to arrive.

I HAVE BEEN USING VANILLA GIFT CARDS FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS AND IS AMAZING HOW MUCH TIME I HAD SAVE BY PAYING ALL MY BILLS FROM MY PC OR CELL PHONE. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO BEFORE USING THIS CARD IS TO REGISTER WITH THE ZIP CODE WHERE YOU LIVE ....AND THE ZIP CODE BECOMES YOUR PIN NUMBER..SO IF YOU PAY ANY BILLS WITH A DIFFERENT ZIP CODE YOU HAD REGISTERED, OF COURSE IT WILL BE DECLINED.....AND YOU CAN CHANGE THE ZIP CODE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT. SO DONT BE BITCHING ABOUT THE CARD , IS THE IGNORANCE OF MORONS LIKE YOU TO BLAME ON THE CARD BEING DECLINED. I LOVE THIS CARD!!!!!!!!

Judged: 1 The Vanilla Visa card that is causing customers so much GRIEF in redeeming it has nothing to do with utilizing zip codes for PINs. Furthermore, it makes absolutely NO sense to pay activation fees to purchase these stupid cards over a THREE-YEAR period of time for the purpose of paying bills from any device. This problem has NOTHING to do with entering different zip codes, paying bills from a PC or cell phone, or anything else this ridiculous. Who’s the ignorant moron???? Love this card all you want to, Sugas, but what possible difference does it make to YOU, how many people report problems using this ripoff card? You obviously either work for Vanilla Visa or if not, your intellect certainly indicates you would be a viable candidate to work for that company.

Wow I bought this card and tried to use it online and it was decline everytime. If you are thinking about buying one dont do it its a freaking joke. you cant get in touch with anyone one they give you the run around and your stuck with a crappy card so dont even think about buying there POS card
