Grand jury looking at appraisal district complaints

The Denton county appraisal district has done several cheating appraisals for us. Three times, now in 30 years, they ahve accidently left off one of the garages on our property the year following a protest where they lowered our appraisal by a few thousand dollars. Then the next year-oops, one of the buildings was NEVER on the appraisal (again) and they double the apprasal. This ahs happened 3 times since we have lived here. This is a method of cheating the taxpayer while ignoring Texas law they can not raise the value of our home more thatn 10% in one year or the last appraisal,(which strangely enough they claim to have been in 2003.) Again I will ahve to go down, this is yearly, and show them they are in error. I can not understand why they are allowed to do this every year.

That's living in Texas for ya...they do whatever they want there just like they do at Denton County. Good luck because nothing will happen. Denton County is all about $$$$ and it dont matter how they get it. They will even make money for filing fees to fight it. Denton County is corrupt. It is the worst county in Texas to live or work in due to the continuous corruption.

Really? Corrupt? I've lived here 10 years and have not seen any corruption.

If these offices constantly raises your property appraisals by 20,000 a year and we are in a recession why won't the Government of the United States take action against this kind of corruption? All they have to do is look at all the counties and compare them. Just shows us about government and how it works I guess!

Denton County... Safe haven for the corrupt, liars and cheaters.

I'm surprised the IG hasn't gotten around to fix this mess, Denton County is the #1 public enemy!
