Judge Peck did the family a favor. DA Rice would have lost the case after a trial just like she blew my case.

You obviously don't know the Mesolella family nor do you have an ounce of sympathy in your body. Have you lost a 19 year old family member only to have the KILLER posting photos on the internet and partying just days after? I'm fairly certain you haven't. Anni is a piece of shit.... lock her up and throw away the key.

I hope Donna feels regret every day for the rest of her life. I am very sorry for your loss. It's pretty sickening to see how lightly life is taken. I only hope that Anni doesn't see the light of day ever again. Donna will get hers... Karma is a bitch.

Obviously Gianna, you are very young an d totally one sided. I did lose someone very close, my brother, and the people he was with when he died never set out for an accident to happen. The thing is, the people he was with were his friends, and he was with them and the person involved was not found guilty, although he paid heavy fines because he was negligent. No one told Desiree to get in that car, and she and Anni were best friends. You and I cannot speak for Desiree and know what she would want, but i believe she would not want her friend in jail for any length of time. I do know Mrs Mesolella and my daughter knew Des, and we both know she was in the same state as Anni, and if she were driving and it was Anni who died, you would probably want Desiree free and call it a terrible accident, so don't judge Anni. I do know her too, and she regrets this every day, and nothing Des's family or anyone in the legal system does can be worse that what she has done to her self over this tragedy. But please do not make Desiree out to be innocent because she was not, and she would be the first to defend Anni if she could. No closure can be had by locking Anni up.

Joanne, it has nothing to do with being young. If you know Mrs. Mesolella so well then can you explain the website that her family created, encouraging people to write letters to Judge Peck to increase Anni's sentence? www.desilee.com ? If Anni had shown even one ounce of remorse, my thoughts may have been different. And it's ridiculous to make comments about "what if Des was driving?" What if you were driving? What if there was a camel in the middle of the road? ALL IRRELEVANT. Bottom line is that she posted pictures of herself getting drunk and wrote ridiculous comments re: the entire incident on the facebook. THE FACEBOOK. How immature, juvenile and downright foolish do you have to be? Anni is a criminal and a very stupid one at that. The only one she has to blame is herself.

I have seen the website. People are writing for Anni as well. As far as the pictures. Big Deal!! I have seen worse From Desiree's site and the memorial site set up for her on facebook. People also asking that all pictures of Des drinking be taken off at the request of the family. I suppose if my daughter too had died so tragically and lived a lifestyle like that, I too would be ashamed at what she posted online and would not want people to see it either. These pictures do NOT show Anni drinking, but toasting, and I heard she did not drink. Also after speaking to Anni many times, all I have ever heard from her is remorse, and she has NEVER posted anything innappropriate regarding the accident or that night to my knowledge. I understand the family wanting justice for their daughter. Any one who drives drunk should have to pay, but to make it all sound as if Des was so innocent is hypocritical. Perhaps pictures of her on facebook with a drink always in hand and her self commenting on what fun and having her stomach pumped from alcohol poisoning should be put on the site, but how would that help. All it would show and prove, is that some young woman, most underage went out one night and after they went home, went out the next morning after a night of drinking, and alcohol still in their system. It would show that 2 friends made some bad choices. Unfortunately one is no longer alive, and the other will live for this the rest of her life. And she is indeed very remorseful. Its a shame how no one else takes resposibility for the results of this night. No one told Des to get in tat car the following morning. And she knew her friend was exhausted and did not have a license, but yet she chose to go for the ride with Anni instead of staying home and staying in bed. Many bad choices and only one is being blamed. I feel for both families, but murder this is not. A terrible accident this IS.

Anyone who is writing for Anni needs their head examined. We don't need another pill popping, drunken mess on the road. Des was not innocent and no one is saying that. I'll be the first to admit that the girl was no angel. But the fact remains that she died for her mistakes. All I'm asking is that Anni receive punishment for what she has done. No punishment that she receives will be even a fraction of what Desiree's family and friends have to deal with every day. Oh, and you "heard Anni did not drink". Get out from under the rock you live under for a millisecond and try and believe that. You sound foolish.

Soory, Gianna, but foolish I am not. Would you rather Anni be sitting in a cell rotting away! That would make you happy? That would solve all the problems for the Mesolella's? NO! The reality of the whole situation is that all of you so called friends from RI of the family of the deceased are going crazy trying to have this girl put away, but nothing in this world will change the fact that you ALL are deaking with your own guilt. If the family had done something about the way Des lived her life and did not let her run wild and spoil her the way they did, perhaps, Des would have known what is right and wrong. I agree Anni does indeed need to pay for her mistake, but you want her to pay for yours, Because you obviously were not a very good friend to let her drink and club and party the way she did. Look At Des's website. It was convenient for the family to post angelic pictures of Des. But the REAL pictures are still out there. Why are you not giving the other site for people to see the pictures of all the DRUNK Des. Her family has to deal with their own guilt for the rest of their lives, but having Anni pay for their poor parenting is not fair. She needs to pay for her crime, and by the books. WE are all writing letters for Anni, but she does not have money to throw around to people to get them to do it for her. We do it because its needed. Why do people need to send a copy or email to her Dad. I wonder!! You said your self, Des was no angel. TRUE! But to compare what happened to her to what happened to other peoples children from drunk drivers, is apples and oranges. Maryanns son was not drunk or with drunk teens when he died. Her son was kiiled by a repeat offender. That is horrible, and I feel for her and her loss. I understand her anger. Her son was not drunk in a car with a drunk friend and was killed in an accident. If 2 shooters enter a school and start killing people, than the victims are indeed victims, but if one of the shooters happens to get shot by the other shooters gun, what do you call that? Think about it. I am not trying to belittle the Mesolella family at all, but what they are doing to Anni, asking her to serve more time than needed and having people send letters begging for the same, is just wrond and it will not bring their daughter back nor will it lessen their own guilt.

I agree with some of what you're saying. I know Des was wild. But I can't take the personal aspect out of it. Anni was just as wild,if not more, than Des. The fact that she is so un-remorseful kills me. Her actions speak louder than her words. And the photos and comments on the internet are unforgivable.

Do you have another site that perhaps I did not see. You mentioned photos and comments but other than facebook, all I have seen is what the family has posted on Desilee.com . I see her with 2 friends and holding a champagne glass, but She never drinks it and I was told it was for pictures sake. I must tell you that I do sympathize with you and I am happy to see you did not deny that was wild. I saw it for years, and no one ever slowed her down. But I have spoken to Anni many times since the accident, recently even, and I have always heard nothing but remorse from her. She has nothing to gain from me and I have spoken to others and they too feel she is very remorseful. There were times I worried for her well being. I know the remorse I hear from her is not just because she is scared, but because she genuinely is sorry for everything and she misses her friend beyond words. Thats is something nI realized when I lost my brother. Things go unsaid, you wish you could trade places, and you wish you could go back and make it all go away. I feel a great deal of sympathy for Desiree's family. I know the grief they feel is unmeasurable. There lives will never be the same. I wish before it had ever gotten to this, they would have spoken to Anni and heard her remorse. Too much time has passed and unfortunately everyone is very angry and revenge is not good, only bitter and I will guarantee you that no matter what sentence Anni receives, it will never be enough for The Mesolella family and it will not bring them closure. I wonder , and worry what will happen when they do not have this to focus us. They need to heal. Its been several years for by brother, but the punishment that was given to the other person involved, did not give us any relief. I am sorry you lost your friend, and I am not sure if Anni was a friend of yours also, but what ever friend thought to give those pictures to the family, is only making matters much worse and hurting the Mesolellas more. Please if you do have another sire, enlighten me. I am an open minded person and I cannot blame Anni based on the pictures I have seen and the comments posted did not show she is not remorseful.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was just wondering how the name Donna Cote came up. Did she kill someone or get a DWI? I am not friends with her. actually I would like to see her locked up..(Because she belongs out of the real world).
