So, what has Mayor Schnieder actually accomplised in 14 months?

Those who watch him closely, can you tell us.

It seems he likes to play budget games.

When will the city step up and get a modern day budget system and supportive software?

Can we do better?

My current grad is D at best.

Tom supports labor.
Labor supports him.
New retail businesses and construction underway and coming along Lindbergh. With it, comes union labor jobs. Good work Mr. Mayor!

Budget games/ That's nonsense.
The state audit came and went without much fanfare.
The city's in good health financially and the council people along with Tom have kept it that way. Don't seem to remember the auditor saying they needed "modern day budget system and supportive software".

Tom will be the mayor for as long as he wants to be. And Labor will back him for as long as he needs us to. Thanks for playing though.

Long live labor!

Looks like some of these trolls really hate unions. Of course, the only trolls that post hate toward labor on this board are the ones pi s s ed off that their guy didn't win the election. Too bad.

I am a union member and my family has been in unions for 3 generations. Schneider may be good for labor, but the question was what has he accomplished in 14 months. Unfortunately, the answer is "not much" if anything. Same old management staff that does nothing but complain, and he lacks the knowledge and experiance to be a good manager much less supervisor.
I am NOT going to move, and hate to see anyone thinking about it will all the vacant houses. I would like to see the mayor step up and show some leadership and work with others to get things done. If you watch the meetings you can see the games being played, and feel the tension between the mayor and city council. Seems like lack of communication, or rather him not caring about others and just going off on his own. Sort of sounds like Lowery....doesn't it?

I will give him a C- and the benefit of a doubt that he will work harder and get better.

To begin, he has not been in office for 14 months. As of today, it s closer to 13 months. While I did not agree with his initial decisions to cancel council's cable program, I am glad it was brought back. I also did not agree with many of the shenanigans pulled by Mr English and his band on the council in the first few months.

Lately, it seems as though things have settled in and the boys aren't just flexing their muscles. I'll go with a B-. The budget is hard with the lack of revenue but new businesses are starting to come into the City so it appears that things are looking up.

So what has Tom accomplished? New retail business underway along Lindbergh? Don't think so. This was structured under our previous Mayor Lowery. The state audit? Also under our previous Mayor.
People need to pay more attention to the Council meetings. Under Tom, he vetoed employee pay raises.
He has not presented to the Council a accurate budget. Recently,(if you paid attention) he tried to pass an emergency expenditure for the golf course lawn tractor, which council members caught and raised several questions. Also recently, Tom was caught not going to bid on certain city projects.

The mayor has tried to undermine many of the city Council members. He has not tried to communicate or be transparent. The past year,(if you pay attention to council meetings) he has deliberately withheld information from Council members only to make the city look foolish. He has not been forthcoming at workshops with Council members (open to the public but quietly publicized) with city expenditures. He has told the new council president one thing and has done the opposite. And he lies to Council members. He is very good at lying to the general public and keeping the residents in the dark. If anyone thinks he is a labor man, why did he support the Republican for state rep seat? By the way, what union was he ever in? I rate him at a D- at best. People need to watch the Council meetings much closer.

I'd give him an F. He has done nothing to keep Florissant from turning into a ghetto. How many more cops need to be shot and paralyzed from black thugs before they actually start doing something.

At least Tom can speak articulately and doesn't make people cringe in public. Lowery on the other hand, is a bumbling moron and a public embarrassment.

How is he supposed to thwart the area turning ghetto when his predecessor welcomed them in with open arms?

The crime of burglary was committed in the Wedgewood subdivision which is in unincorporated St. Louis County. The coward who shot Off. Vernon ran across Lindbergh to hide behind a business on the opposite side. So unless we but up fences and gates around the entire City how can any Mayor stop something tragic like this from happening.

When he is wrong blame the man, but don't blame him for something only God can control.

They couldn't keep out the chocolate and neither could the mayors from any of the other municipalities in north county. Its a trend that continues and it matters not who the community leaders are. Look at your history and the history of north st louis in general and learn from it.

nah it happened on the 1800 block of Banstead, which is by my house and is in florissant. The piece o shit thug jumped in the trashcan waiting to ambush the cop in the parking lot behind the house he was borrowing the tv from.
I'll give the mayor a D since he inherited it, but he still isn't doing shit about the full blown ghettofication of florisant. He can at least slow it down for a little bit so the white's can escape and then hand the keys over to the next black mayor for full ghettofication.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Taurus

If a friend has been bugging you recently, you are likely to have a few sharp words with them today. However, least said soonest mended, so don't labour the point or turn them against you. Besides, you have better things to do with your time now, such as taking part in a big gathering of likeminded people or having a long chat with one special person.
