Florence crime rate down despite gambling warnings, OR

The Register-Guard newspaper reports the overall crime rate has dropped from 68 occurrences per 1,000 residents to 33 since 2005 in Florence ? more than half.

i think this is an abosolute lie ! i live in florence and it isnt getting any better no matter what. and forget crime rates ! i need a damn job !

Lala, Do you know that your e-mail comes from Minneapolis, MN? Why do people say things that they don't know about?
I actually do live (summers) in Florence (winters in Springfield so I can attend college at the UofO) and people are alot happier since the casino has brought in so many jobs. Not only the jobs that are through the casino, but jobs that have opened up because of the influx of people the casino brings in. New restaurants, new tourist shops, even new city positions. Thank you casino!
