I don't know how SJRWMD could even consider another draw on our already depleted water supply. Lakes in this area are dry or going dry, we are on limited use orders. Yard watering is regulated to one day a week.
Ever since the Grandin Sand plant started business we have suffered with low water levels. Along with losing property values we also have to put up with sand trucks.
Now they are considering allowing another commercial enterprise take what little water we have left. When will enough be enough? If they want to raise fish then let them pay to buy a property that already has a lake. Why should they be allowed to pump out 1/2 a million gallons a day from our drinking water?
Don't be fooled by the 150,000 a day with a buffer to 450,000. SJRWMD did the same thing with Grandin sand plant.

This practice has been going on for the last 30 years. 1st it was dupont over by Kingsley Lake. Then came Gold Head sand mine. Then Grandin sand mine! Also the state of Florida has done there share of water robbing..In the mid 70s Gold Head State park altered the spring (Branch) from draining into Big Lake Johnson to What is now called Little Lake Johnson....Just for there paid guest to swim and fish at there cabins..

Brooklyn Lake started filing when Alligator Creek opened then the water stopped, and without rain the lakes are going away again. What happened to the water from Alliagtor Creek? The creek was not supposed to stop for a least a year. Now theres now flow. Behind the old Sabo's was filling up, now its going away, without rain. The water came in so fast the there was none. What happened? The boating started then stopped when the water quite flowing. Is Camp Blanding to blame are they holding the water back? Come on people let the water go Camp Blanding has more access to free flowing water than Keystone Heights.

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Leo

If you're going to a festive party or gathering today you'll have a great time. It will be good to see some old faces and nice to meet some new ones. Don't be shy about breaking the ice if you spot someone you'd like to know better, as with Mars in your sign dancing with Venus in fiery Sagittarius, bells will ring and fires light up. Get the last of those Christmas cards out of the way now, so they're not on your conscience.
