Country Club Estates and/or ALCOA "Care-free" House
Posted in the Flint Forum
I am doing some research concerning ALCOA "Care-free" Aluminum homes that were built around 1957.
According to a brochure for these mid-century modernist homes, there was one of these built in Country Club Estates in Flint, MI.
This is one of the few of these roughly 25 homes that I have not been able to locate.
It is possible that this location was never built, it is possible that the home is no longer extant but I am still trying to track down any information anyone has on this house.
Can anyone help me locate the area, street, or development that might have been called "Country Club Estates" in the late 1950's?
Also, any information on the ALCOA home that may have been built in Flint is welcome!
Any luck finding it? I am searching on behalf of someone also looking. There is/was one for sale in Grand Rapids.
Gabh an latha,
Hi Richard -
Just curious, is your search for someone looking to purchase or for historic research purposes, or ?
Either way, check out http://virtualglobetrotting.com/search/... to see all of the ALCOA's that I have found to date. I have found these along with another ALCOA enthusiast's help.
The ALCOA in the Miami area was recently for sale and may still be on the market.
