I wonder, is there anyway that an administration could pass an ordinance by which people repeatedly convicted of crimes such as sexual abuse, violent crimes and drug related crimes could be made to leave our town. You know, like a three strikes you're out eviction type thing. I don't see why not. Why can't we hold our citizens up to a reasonable code of cunduct, nothing extremist, just reasonable. Drug dealers are a danger to our youth, so are sex offenders. These are serious crimes and removing this type of people from the city would definitely improve the town immediately. A zero tolerance ordinance.I think our town needs it, it is a step in the right direction for sure.If you want a nice place to live you arte going to have to eliminate the threats to its citizens, and try to protect them and their way of life the best that you can. People are losing faith in their city officials because they seem to faulter on right and wrong and the law. They could earn respect if they would stand up for something instead of falling for everything.

If you a--holes think Bubba would steal something you've got another think coming. Bubba is the best Mayor Bridgeport alabama has ever had and ever will have. He has done more for this town than anybody and he is honest he wouldn't take nothing.

The problem lies within the justice system. Once a person "does their time", they are considered to be rehabilitated. How can one be rehabilitated while in prison when they have all the time in the world to sit with birds of a feather and learn new tricks of the trade? That is prison rehabilitation.
My personal thought is: if a person is convicted for the third time, three stricks~~you're out!! should mean what it says. They NEVER get out of prison again.
Yes, we all make mistakes. But if you make a mistake, serve your time, and do not learn from that mistake to the point that you screw up again...well, maybe you are a lost cause.
There should not have to be a third strike.

I don't think Bubba is a thief. I think he has his hands full and the only ones he can count on for help are the people who work with him. What if he had help from the town !Instead of complaining, go ask what can I do to help? How can we (the citizens) back you up. If you think he is a snake in the grass you will be there to see what is going on. I do not know this person haven't seen him in 30 years but I would be willing to bet if the town got behind him instead of complaining he would be able to do a better job.Is he making his decisions based on the people around him and what they think ? Then be around him, let your voice be heard! If then you feel he's not competent enough to run your town then find someone who can.If someone was making decisions on your house without asking you would throw a fit, well your town is the same,YOU LIVE IN IT ! pay attention.
