We had a good forum going on the old days and good times in Bridgeport under the Western Auto forum. Anybody else remember any good things about downtown? I read in the South Pittsburg Hustler paper the other day about a street dance on the street between Loyd's hardware and Tanner's pharmacy. That was probably a big event. Aint been that many years ago that we had a dance at the city park or natl guard armory on saturday nights. Drew a pretty good crowd as i remember.

He Is one fine person an has been a good freind to every one in bridgeport. They should name a street after him.Willie street.I know theres already a freeman ave.

Ha. I had forgot about the drawing. Seems like you got tickets from business in town when you bought stuff. Then they had the drawing. You are right bout Willie Freeman to. I bought several cars from him in years past. He kept cars a person could afford to buy.

I would like to see a street named after Bo Murray. He is done a lot for Bridgeport and helped a lot of people to. He loaned men money at the foundry any time they needed it. Bo was the one who built the new Utility place in town. Bo is a good man who has helped a lot of people in Bridgeport over the years.

Remember how that block smelled with the barber shop and the pool hall on it? Then the water office and Randolph's and you were going under the viaduct on your way to the river. Good times!

Hadnt thought bout the parking meters n a while. Ha. Seems like you got about 12 minutes for a penny. Pep rallys and parades in town was common. Once a year the vet would come to town to give dogs rabies shots. Town was the center of things back then.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Pisces

Keep well clear of anything or anyone that looks like being a problem, but at least you can hold your own. This is a marvellous day for taking care of someone who isn't very well at the moment or who needs all the sympathy and understanding you can give them.
