A Parable for Today
A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company (Ford) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River . Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.
On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.
The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to
investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team
made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.
Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person
steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person
rowing.
Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a
consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion.
They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the
boat, while not enough people were rowing.
Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent
another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents, and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.
They also implemented a new performance system that would give the one person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings,
dinners, and free pens for the rower. There was discussion of
getting new paddles, canoes, and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses.
The next year the Japanese won by two miles.
Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor
performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment.
The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India .
Sadly, The End.
Here's something else to think about:
Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of
the US, claiming they can't make money paying American wages.
TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen
plants inside the US . The last quarter's results:
TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in
losses.
Ford folks are still scratching their heads.

Does anyone know anything about Chrysler closing down the frontage road along Highway 40 north of the proving grounds?

Are you talking about the dirt road (Old Trails Hwy) that if you continued driving straight off of the existing frontage rd on the east side of I40 in front of the Proving Grounds. If so, I don't believe so but will look into it.

You heard right Cutoff, Chrysler has closed off Old Trails Hwy. Not sure the exact reason, but was told that it is on their property and they didn't want anyone coming on it.
I guess they are choosing not to be good stewards in the community.

Wow what a long post.
Been reading it for hours.
I recently bought 1.15 ac at the Lake Havisu Estate area.
Never seen it.
Im really curious as to what is there or how far away is any services and how deep to drill well.
In a couple years would like to be there.Least thru the long Idaho winters.
If anyone ever gets out that way maybe a few digital pictures would be helpfull to, as to if its some what level even.
Its on dennis road, looks to be 4-5 miles from town on the alamo road .
I maybe can find the gps cords.
My hopes are in a few short years there will be more stores ect in the area.

Hi Brett & Tammy, We have a spot on Alan rd in Havasu Estates. The land is relativly flat though there are many washes & lower properties that may not be suitable for septic. You can look up the plot number at mohave county assessor. It will show a Satellite map of the area so that you can see if there are any washes. We haul our water from Yucca like most others in the area. The store and gas station have reopened as has the laundrymat. There is a bar/restaurant as well as the Honalulu Club. We were there last week, It was HOT. It is also monsoon season. It was great to see the rain storms.

As Love Yucca has said the terrain in your area is pretty well flat with multiple washes passing through. These tend to be the smaller ones but can cause problems on a lot of your size due to the setbacks required with septic in regards to washes. Wells generally run in the 350 to 500 ft. depth range.
Any shopping will require traveling a minimum of 26 miles to Kingman or Havasu where the new mall is located. Also in addition to what is in Yucca, the store carries fuels such as gas and diesel as well as propane through bottle exchanges. I don't believe they are setup to dispense.
Welcome to the area. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I live in the Yucca townsite itself as well as being a property owner in the Stagecoach Trails development or as others have referred to it as Santa Fe Ranch (I avoid saying it since my property is in the lower east side and is physically in the Bar S Ranch area).

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
