So Unitil will pay someone(probably politically connected) to try and steer the public away from complaining about Unitils continued failures, and probably still laughing about how DPU could not do anything to them.
All smoke and mirrors folks, prepare for another long, cold, dark winter with Unitil still in place |

(Wednesday, Water Commissioner Denis Meunier announced that the Water Department has collected more than $52,000 in past due water bills over the last two weeks.)
Let's get the rest of that money. |
It's nice that there is now a point man in an emergency. But, we all knew that the DPU hearings on the ice storm were nothing but a show and would amount to nothing. The ruling that the DPU can't fine Unitil for their total disregard to customers during the ice storm makes me wonder why the DPU even exists if they have no power.
Okay so let me get this straight… Until Corp is New Hampshire based company assigns the point man John DiNapli an Attleboro resident to be assigned to the city of Fitchburg in the event we might have another ice storm that shut down the area for over two weeks? Now we are suppose to believe that he will be able to drive from the southernmost border of the State in such an event? I guess this new position will be coming out of our monthly bills along with his company car and mileage. It took me over two hours to drive to Ayer from Fitchburg the morning of the Ice Storm. Way to go Until and the stupidity continues we should all thank our elected officials both local and State for their non functional meetings and waste of taxpayers monies to do nothing to resolve the over price non functional company that cares for their stockholders than the public!

sad that the DPU couldn't fine them...but who did they say could? If the answer of gov't is we don't know, then we have in fact an un-regualted utility. Why didn't the DPU do what they certainly can do...revoke there license to operate.

Don't forget to write that phone number down, you may never see it in print again.
Fit, I agree. I just put that number on my cell phone under my Unitil contact. I will be calling him directly when my power goes out next time. Since the december outage (we were out for 14 days) we've lost power 12 times. 8 of those times, it's been out for under 3 minutes (just enough to be annoying). All but one were "blue sky" outages. No explanation from Unitil. Though, they happily collect my $190 each month- for a 3 bedroom home. We've been working hard on keeping the electricity usage down... our electric bill was $230 a month before the ice storm.

You forgot to add that Mayor Wong has her hand in there pocket. Or are the people of Fitchburg that dumb to think this will really make things better ? |
AOL |
We're just getting stroked by our non message returning mayor and her heros at unitil
We continue to be raped by Unitil. We have no choice who provides us with service or how much they can charge us even when they fail miserably to provide that service. They can not be punished. This sounds more like a communist operation to me. The mayor should refuse to participate in any introductions or anything else that lends credence to that company. I want a mayor that is on our side, not theirs.

i heard on the radio this morning that national grid will install a street light and for the month of november it can cost as little as 9 dollars for the month, and in the lighter of months about 3 dollars a month. you can have your very own street light. although as a homeowner and tax payer we should be provided these services it is coming down to this: we pay taxes and we pay again to live as safe and as normal as we possibly can in this city of dark. i was vandalized with spray paint and at 1 a.m. this morning my dog woke me up to two coyotes running the neighborhood so we have 2 legged animals to deal with and the 4 legged ones all out at night at the same time, i just wish these hoodlums would run into a few coyotes! hungry ones of course!

Wasn't it Attorney General Coakley that got involved and set the fines to begin with, wow we need her as our next Senator. And what about Lunenburg, Ashby and Townsend!!!!!
Someone should look into the public records at the DPU on fines levied against UNITIL. They have been fined before. How is it they could be fined in the past for failures in their system and the DPU claims that they can not be fined now?
you must be so proud of yourself lisa. a legend in your own mind.
HOW MUCH DOES UNITIL PAY YOU?? |
Why is Wong introducing this guy? Essentially she is doing the PR work for Unitil, isn't she? It's curious as to why the announcement of this position was handled this way, rather than Unitil using it as an opportunity to say to the residents of Fitchburg, "We screwed up last winter, we're sorry, but we've got this point of contact for just you". I think that would have gained them something in the way of good will. Sure we're all still going to look at them critically and we don't trust them as faar as we could throw them, but they should have made this announcement.
This doesn't smell right and those with a critical eye should see it for what it is, Wong catering to her masters. She's coming off as a shill for the company that screwed all of us so badly last December. |

**** = scre....wed.
We don't need more executives at Unitil.
We need linemen out every single day replacing outmoded infrastructure and doing vegetation maintenance. |

Check this out. I did a search to see who was the provider for electric in Attleboro and this is what I found. Does this guy have any idea about the "Devil" he is in bed with??? He is just going to be Unitil's scapegoat. IMHO - this newly created position should be filled by someone who is being raped by Unitil.

It would be nice if Meunier knew what he was doing. He was appointed to this job, which he knows nothing about. Sad for Fitchburg.
