The Patrick administration today said it was firing a third person in connection with the disappearance of Jeremiah Oliver, a 5-year-old Fitchburg boy who has been missing since September and should have been seen at least once a month by a state social worker since this summer.

I'm not sure what is more sad. The fact that the state has another social service program or the idea that there are so many scum bag parents out there that the service is needed.

Anyone that hurts a child is definately less than human. The problem is that they are a protected species and we spend to much time and money on trying to figure out why than holding them fully responsible for their actions. I was never afraid of fire until I touched it, the same should go for the law. Hold people accountable and make the penalties so severe that someone will think twice before breaking the law.

judges, social workers, employees, or any credible source/persons who did nothing by saying nothing, or who helped in the neglect by ignoring it, should be removed. the patrick administration needs to do more, act less. and by this i mean not have duval with his goofy ass voice and grin, up on a stand telling mass it will be ok, we'll do more! XD no, u do nothing. because this entire story is neglecting to mention:
1. the family court
2. the judges decisions
3. the interaction between court, dcf, and parents.
dcf can F up all day and have entire staff cycled over and over, but if the problems are caused in the very place it needs to be stopped for lack of "workers", "emotion" or it's "just how its always been" then we need to replace everything until it works. yeah, takes time....but not a life like the neglect here has. this is only one story that went public, imagine the millions more that have not. somethings smells like "blame game" here....
