Attorney Peter Dion

Just curious if anyone has had any dealings with the now suspended attorney Peter Dion of Leominster. He collected a settlement on behalf of a family member and kept it.$10,000. That was back in 2007, but we just became aware of it in the last couple weeks. This suspension was not in the Sentinel but in the Telegram back in July. Any other victims?

A crooked lawyer? Who ever heard of such a thing.

Yes he stole 10, 000 dollars from me also. I didnt see anything in the paper either. I wish we could contact each other and maybe do a lawsuit...

Contact the Bar of Overseers in Boston...there is a client security fund available...when did this happen?

Yes I already did all that they have been involved since February of this year. They are the ones who contacted me and told me he stole our money.

Did you file a claim with the Client Security Board? If so, did you recieve a settlement? If thats the case, we give up our rights to file suit, and give the Board Of Overseers the power to convict on our behalf. What kind of a case was it, and did you have a personal relationship with him or anyone in his family.

why do you ask if I have a personal relationship with him? Thats a very weird question. I have not recieved a settlement yet. They say it could take a year. Did you recieve a settlement?
The case was a personal issue and it never got resolved as Peter would never return our calls.

Sorry I ask because he was a friend of the family, and I was told that another "victim" was a close friend and another a family member. I was just curious if it was just people that he knew personally that he stole from, or was it just anyone. I didn't mean to insult you or ask a strange question...just trying to figure it all out. Then I did my own investigating, and was shocked and amazed and then pretty ballistic. Our case was a personal injury, cut and dry case, and he never returned any calls to his office or home, or responded to letters.

Yes Peter is a relation to a family member of mine. I never thought that a family member would do such a thing but here it is. The 10 thou was designated to settle a support case and now we dont have the money to pay support because he stole it. He also never returned our calls and his office was always darkened when we went there. There are many other victims according to the Boston Bar Overseers. I'm pretty furious to say the least. There is so much more to this that I dont want to print in public. I never saw it in the Sentinel and I dont get the Telegram. I think he should be criminally charged in addition to being suspended from practice.

I agree with you that he should be held criminally responsible too. Regardless of his "mental" situation. Many people have gone thru depression and don't blatently steal. Which is what he is claiming...stress, depression...I was not real happy with using him in the first place, as I knew that his mental status a few years back was shaky. I can't believe that it will take that long for a settlement, especially after what you've been thru. I also don't understand why this post subject keeps disappearing from the threads...I have to google his name and then I find it. I find it odd that the Sentinel hasn't picked it up. Almost like he's protected somehow.

He was working on a case for us and kept telling us it would take time and kept putting us off. Meanwhile penalties and fees kept building up on the amount owed for support over the period of 4 years he was "working" on this case. When he said the DOR would close the case if we paid 10,000..we gave him the money and not only did he not pay DOR, he took the money!! Now the client has no drivers license...unable to find work because DOR keeps pulling the whole paycheck....it just gets worse and worse and he is enjoying himself on our money. Im so angry you have no idea!

How awful for you...I am sorry and understand completely. I feel sorry for his wife and kids...but how could they not know? This is really horrible and I am sure there are many more victims out there. I am going to push th Bar of Overseers to prosecute him to the fullest extent, as his victims were elderly, family members, and friends who trusted him. Actually, I think alot of his clients came from family and friends..in order to help HIM out.

Yes there is no excuse for what he did. Mental problems or not, you dont steal from people who trust you to do a job for you. Thats the lowest. And especially family members. He should be ashamed of himself and should be prosecuted. Yes I do feel bad for his wife and kids also. How can they not know?

Joe, He is in Leominster hiding. Doesnt answer phone, door...etc. He is suspended from practice and has yet to pay anyone back. If nI knew how to take him criminally I would but i have no money or knowledge how to do this. I'm just waiting for the board to inform me if I can get my ten thousand back from them.

just heard from the Board who said it would be months....They ae taking criminal action against him...don't give up...there will be an end and it will be Peter who will pay...one way or another...keep in touch

WOW, this is amazing. I have recently been a victim of Peters. I am so shaken up now seeing this because it is all too similar. I have filed with the board of overseers and small claims. He befriended my husband so we too were sympathetic to his depression. Now that i have approached him, he has threatened me in a letter that i better keep my mouth shut woe to me and my husband. He will be sending me dead roses he said. We are dealing with a disturbed individual. please let me know if anyone had similar threats.

He is located at Erdman Way in Leominster. Hasn't paid his rent there for months either.

Just wondering what telegram article you were refering to? Has he been in the papers for his criminal acts? I wish i knew this a long time ago.
