A college is a college and a University is a University. How many true technical and scientific degrees are coming of these state colleges? Also they do not appear to be teaching colleges but rather colleges that graduate teachers. The standards for a University curriculum may also be higher. Once again the integrity of our University system has been handed over to political appointees.

It's long overdue, and Massachusetts continue to lag behind the rest of the country. It's time to make the state colleges Universities

Waste of money... and all the costs for the name changes should come out of the salaries of the administrators and the politicians who go along with it!

the criteria for a university has been defined. If the State colleges fit the criteria, the fine- change the name. If they do not fit the criteria, and want the name change, then restructure the college so it fufils the "university criteria". I am so tired of everthing being "dumbed down". Lets change everthing to the lowest common denominator so everthing fits and lets not do anything because 1 person may be offended by your actions.

Dumbing down is the perfect analogy.
