How sad. My son and his friends at Fitchburg State knew both Alex and Giselle. I hear Giselle was nice and Alex was not; not nice to anyone at FSC. My son said that it there isn't a lot of sympathy for Alex. I said to my son: "Granted he may not be missed by many, but what a waste of a life. Was Mr. Skowran ordered to make restitution for the $4400 of damage he inflicted on Ms. Rodriguez's property in March 2009? Did he do so?

Don't go blaming the Judge. Do you know how many restraining orders are filed and then dropped by the victim....? Countless numbers. I think our "system" needs to focus more on the counseling aspect needed in domestic violence situations than the actual restraining order itself. The piece of paper isn't going to stop the violence...these people need intervention...but that'll never happen until the city/state implements a counseling program for those who file for restraining orders...and that'll never happen because the budget cuts seem to happen in the areas that need it most...social services. This has NOTHING to do with Judge McGill's "fitness for his position." He made the order based on the info he had at the time the order was filed. Again, if he has no recollection...how could he possibly...so many complaints are filed on a daily basis. This is an unfortunate end to a common situation and until we deal with the real issues of these people in trouble...it will continue...status quo.
