Pit Bulls are not dogs! Two attacks in Billings by Staffords Pits in the last year that made the news. A lot more Pit attacks that didn't. Breed with a low number, but the number one killer of children. The killer instinct is in the breed, no matter how "nice" they are at times. Ban them from the face of the earth!

These bans really bother me, but proper tracking of incidents and the relative ratio of Pit Bulls owns, vs attacks should show that it's only a small problem, not directly tied to the breed itself, but to bad owners in general. There should be laws, but not restriction on the breed because, like a lot of us out there, my sweet pit bull is the nicest dog - better than my two chihuahuas and NOT NEARLY as mean. They're all great though :)

There's a cute article on My.Arfie.com about sweet pit bulls - check it out http://my.arfie.com/profiles/blogs/pit-bulls-...

This was not in the bill.
Pit bulls that are permitted must at all times wear tags that identify them as registered pit bulls, according to the bill.

Several years ago, I was attacked by a "Pit Bull" while out for a morning jog. I do not however blame the dog. I blame its owner for providing it with an unstable environment and a lack of consistent discipline. I had observed several times prior to the attack its owner allowing the dog to chase other animals only to be punished AFTER returning to him. I also blame myself for not realizing that this response would eventually escalate into chasing humans. After the incident, I asked the owner to take the dog to a trainer who could handle such a high energy dog. I am happy to say now that the dog is a very happy, stable, calm member of the community and never shows ANY aggressive behaviors towards anyone or anything. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a "bad breed" but simply uneducated owners. There are many more small dog breeds out there who are very vicious and aggressive. The only reason that they don't get demonized is because their small size gives even a small child a large weight advantage making them easier to man-handle.

You hit the nail on the head. It's not the breed. It's the people interbreeding them to make a fast buck. If you look up the history on Pit Bull's you'd know that's its nickname is BabySitter. They're people out there that want to say look at me. I own a Pit Bull. But, a true Pit Bull owner is not in it to breed them, or to chain them up with no contact other then them being feed, if that. These dogs are little small children they need exercise, discipline and affectation. The Dog Whisper has a pit by the name of Daddy, that he uses to help train other dogs. I can understand not allowing anyone that is gang related or under the age of 30(?) not allowing them to own a Pit Bull.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Capricorn

Mercury retrograde in your sign will cause some friction between you and other people during coming weeks. Matters that have been bubbling away in the background will come to the boil, forcing you to do something about them. Try not to overreact, nor to create a crisis out of something that's really very minor. You should also keep a strong sense of fair play and pay attention to every little detail.
