You can only teach your children so much and hope that they can apply what you've taught them to their life's path. This does not mean that Kim's parents failed. This was her own poor judgement. However, unfortunately, misjudgements on all levels are often made even by YOU...Perhaps your parents failed as well...??

Seriously? How can you say that EVERYONE has drove home intoxicated? Maybe you and your friends have but then again maybe you have yet to experience something so tragic like the death of Jeanette happn to someone you know or love... And when and if it ever does then you too will see the other side of the story.. I will personally never be the mother to someone like Kim. I will teach my children what poor judgement does and how it effects you... Going to bars and getting out of control until you can't walk straight will definetly not be something that my children will learn to behave like.<quoted text>

If you know her then you probably also know that she had no problem laughing up a storm following the incident... in fact she instead chose to make all sorts of malicious accusations towards the mourning family. A person of real character would have pleaded quilty immediatley and sat in the jail cell that she deserved instead of trying to get away with it. Whatever tears she has shed they have been for her own life not the one she has taken. Her actions before, during and after the incident clearly reflect her lack of respect for human life. 10 years is not enough for what she did...As for her family.... WHERE WERE THEY WHEN SHE DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR?!!!! They are just as responsible.

i personally know Kim & most of her family, and this breaks my heart. she is in no way a monster, and one of the sweetest & realest women on this earth. and if she was to never do a day in any kind of jail, i know for a fact she will live with what happened on that tragic night in the prison walls of her own heart. please pray for her & her family.

Nguyen deserves what she got. People shouldn't feel sorry for her!! I mean c'mon wtf? At least she's still alive right? You could bring back the other girl that SHE KILLED!!! By the way, where were nguyens friends and family when she took the car, in my opinion there allllll to blame on this stupidity for not stopping her.
